The fine money goes to the NHL Foundation.

Good grief! The guy is a proven talent and playoff performer but yes, delusional. Take the $12M, say thank you, and play your heart out. Rejecting a $12M offer is not a good look and if he sulks it'll poison the atmosphere in the Stars dressing room.

It'd be something to see if the Avs and Stars meet in the playoffs.

Wow! $12M a season for 8 seasons. Good for Rantanen. We'll see how good it is for the Stars. They were already a very good team. They're obviously hoping this puts them over the top.
