Just curious and I'm not sure how old you were then (I was 16) but ...

Where were you on that day when Bennie Hatskin brought Bobby Hull to Winnipeg and the Golden Jet received the largest contract ever paid to a professional hockey player($1.75 million over 10 years, plus a $1 million signing bonus)?

He took on the old boys club of the NHL and made them cough up some $$$ when he signed him million dollar deal. It was a big deal a the time, and the NHL didn't care too much for what he did, but all the players and every player since then did. I remember thinking back then when I watched Gordie Howe and Bobby Hull playing in the WHA--what the hell is wrong with hockey?? How can the 2 greatest players to play the game in their era have to play for a rogue league to make a buck!!!

I wasn't alive back then. I can, however, appreciate the importance of Hull's role in professional hockey and what he did contribute to the game during his time.

Looks like the trading has started.

Should be interesting. I'd imagine there are a lot of very good players that'd like to come to the best team in the league, the Winnipeg Jets, and push us over the top.
Go Bombers!

Panthers just picked up Seth Jones....they'll be tough to dethrone as champs, and Washington is going to be in the mix as well.

J5V

Another 1-2 loss. Ugh! Where have the goals gone?
Go Bombers!

Elias Petterson needs to traded by Vancouver.  Not sure what his downhill slide was caused by but he is trade bait and certainly not helping the Canucks right now.

Jones going to the Panthers is huge
The Avs did well in getting d-man, Lindgren
Rangers, might still be tinkering, are sitting out F. Reilly Smith today

Oilers acquire F Frederic, Jones from Bruins: https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/edmonton-oilers-acquiring-f-trent-frederic-from-boston-bruins-1.2264972

QuoteThe Edmonton Oilers have acquired forwards Trent Frederic and Max Jones from the Boston Bruins.

The Oiler sent defenceman Max Wanner, a 2025 second-round pick, and a 2026 fourth-round pick back to Boston in the deal. Wanner, a seventh-round pick of the Oilers in 2021, has one goal and one assist in 22 AHL games with the Bakersfield Condors this season. The second-round pick is the St. Louis Blues selection acquired by Edmonton last summer in the offer sheets for Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway.

The New Jersey Devils have received Shane LaChance from Edmonton for facilitating the deal, retaining 50 per cent of Frederic's salary. LaChance, who remains at Harvard University, was selected by the Oilers in the sixth round of the 2021 draft.

The Oilers also received unsigned draft choice Petr Hauser in the deal. The Devils selected the 21-year-old forward in the fifth round in 2022.
