Coach Osh brought up the goal line stand on post game on OB.  That was huge.  Play of the game for us?

Yes. That might have been the end if Ottawa scored a TD. Not even giving up a FG was a bonus.

Quote from: Blue In BC on July 20, 2026, 02:28:53 AMHis accuracy seemed off but some of that may have been on the receivers. That said he was lucky a few weren't picked.

Dru was lucky half a dozen didn't get picked off... he needs a lot more time to work with the rec's and learn their tendencies, and for them to learn his.  Far too many balls were on the wrong side of a cut or move, too many were behind with a rec reaching back for it.

The D stiffened up in the second half, and through the overtime.  The dline is getting better, and Kelly, Kramdi are making ratio easier, and Willie might be getting long in the tooth, but he still demands the doubleteam and helps out his linemates.

The best part, by far, was the "no give up" that they showed.  It would have been easy to hang your heads and limp through the 2nd half down as much as they were.  JY made adjustments, the rec's got on the same page as Dru, and never gave up the fight.

And being the first team to win the new OT format, epic.
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

Impressed with his response he knew

I call Maier vs Brown a tie

Good battle today

dd

After watching brown go against Maier I can see why Dinwiddie went with Maier, brown is very careless with the ball, should have been picked at least 3 times probably more. He ll have to do for now but when Zach is healthy he is clearly the better option

Dru has always been a bit of a risk taker and will get picked for it, but it genuinely did seem like a lot of those plays tonight were just a chemistry thing... receiver looked in he threw 2 yards out and vice versa. He definitely doesn't have the tendencies down, who sits where and etc...especially with Pokey (even though theyre still making plays but they look awkward most times).

Maier is a safe bet with no upside
Dru can sling nasty, which will get you in trouble at times but worth the risk
By the time Zach is ready to come back Dru will be partially dialed in
Agree go back to Zach but must be 110% 1st

not on dru

It's both.  Dru is chucking most mid balls way too high.

Yes, a super-top REC would still catch it.  I'm not sure we have any RECs that can climb a ladder like that, though.  So if your RECs aren't capable, why are you still throwing high balls??

I can forgive the first 1-2 high balls.  But Dru needs to dial it in way faster than that.  He shouldn't still be throwing them high late in the 3rd.  If he can't dial it in, that's a sign of QB issues.

Patience, last game was good, this game not so much, let him cook but otherwise agree

Quote from: The Zipp on July 20, 2026, 12:53:31 AMhow are we not opening holes for BO?

Because Brady takes way too long to let the blocks setup, but in the meantime the edge guys come around (in this case from both sides!) and tackle his legs.  Everyone has learned that's the way to stop our run game.  Our OL goes to the 2nd level way too soon and the 1st level collapses in behind them.

Either the hoggies have to linger longer blocking the 1st level, or Brady has to hit it faster.  And I don't think he will/can, because he NEVER does.

As such teams stop Brady waaaay too easily.  It's actually embarrassing and it makes him look like a $300k chump.

Quote from: tlf on July 20, 2026, 12:52:31 AMHe ran into us... but cool. Not catchable ball also good call Suitor.  Also he stopped running? Pfft.

The Kelly INT was an attempted mugging.  The OTT guy mugged us.  It's a miracle the refs didn't flag it -- they flag all the other mugs.  Has a memo gone out for refs to not let O's get away with blatant mugging?

Our D guy did one thing differently though, which may be the mugging solution: he didn't raise his arms at all.  He just stood in place and let the REC run into him with HIS arms.  I hope that's something we coached up to solve muggings.  That's the way.  More of this.  We'll need it when we play SSK.
