Is it possible for anyone to be "lights out good" on defense and give up 420 yards of offense to Maier?

On the season last week's game provided Ottawa's offense highest net yards, completed passes, second most points scored and they were coming off a 17 point beat down by Edmonton's defense the prior week. And sure, overtime adds on a few more opportunities but they were effective from the opening whistle.

So why are we playing him at WIL?

Tony Jones is probably their most effective blitzer, he's fast and he's furious.  Clearer path coming from the outside than from the middle, taking on the running back has become a group tackling activity, with Griffin, Smith, Kramdi or Woodbey helping out whoever is lined up at MLB.

As MOS says, have to list them on the depth chart somewhere. Doesn't mean much.

With the group they have on the D-line it seems to be working well, pretty sure this is Kyrie's last season so they're in the process of transitioning the LB corps.

Absolutely.  Because, duh, it's a team game.  Thought experiment, Jones can be lights-out good at WILL and the opponent could send every single run up the SAM... that doesn't make Jones any less good.

I've seen gobs of good plays by Jones in these first 6 weeks, and very few bad ones.  Probably a better ratio than any other player on D.  To me, that makes him lights out good!

Takes the same amount of crazy to play WILL     

And I'm not sure Jones has changed anything to be WILL.  The other players just point him to where he's supposed to stand, and he magically does his thing.
