Johnson has shown flashes and has earned his position on this team.

And Whitehead hasn't?? Lucky strikes fear in the defenses eyes, Johnson trips over his own 2 feet on a jet sweep!! Did so last game. Lucky can also return punts and kicks better than anyone in our lineup. Absolutely no comparison who should be in and who should be out.

But that's ok, we'll have time to go to the fridge when it's Cases's turn to return punts now.

Blue In BC

I still think we can beat the Lions even with Rourke potentially starting this week. I'd rather face Dolegala but if we have to face Rourke so be it.

Lucky is in, Case is out sounds like.

I think Case gives us our best chance to win the special teams battle, but let's see how Whitehead does there. He is getting a little old to return punts...

Devin Adams should be on the active roster over Woods in my opinion. He's shown more so far this season, and is one of our top guys at pressuring the QB.

Well, according to the CFL pundits, with the news of Nathan Rourke's return, we are the underdogs for the Lions game.  I guess, as the saying goes, "We have the Lions right where we want them"...

Except that we are currently in a nonplayoff spot, and based on what I've seen Johnson hasn't shown much potential. Its unlikely he would make our roster even next year

Exactly, things certainly haven't gone according to plan this year and Lucky provided a great kick start to the offence last game and even got them into the endzone which has been a rare occurrence.  Reward Lucky and reward the fans, who have once again embraced him. Josh Johnson is welcome to try again next year.

The Zipp

If lucky is on the roster even as a returner he can still rotate into the game as a receiver.  It would be a huge mistake to PR him - glad they aren't doing that

Waffler

I'm fine with it because I think we are improved in two areas. Lucky as returner and Lawler at receiver.  Has Case done more than Johnson? It's got to be one of the two staying.

Having needed to add an import OL at RG changed our ratio a bit. If not for that we could have kept both of Case and Whitehead.

So, Johnson or Lawler?  Kinda think Lawler has earned the spot if healthy.

Case is the returner, Lucky might be more explosive, but Case "has earned his position on this team".

No did to Johnson, and he could be the next Washington, he's here for a reason.  But he's not on the roster except for injuries, and when those injuries heal, well...

Case may have been a slight improvement over Smith, et al, but he hasn't looked at all dangerous. At best, he catches the ball cleanly and does what he can. Perhaps that's more important than the ability to take it to the house. But I'd have no problem trying Lucky out to see if he's lost a step. We're at the bottom of the league for both KR and PR average, so it can't get much worse (assuming we don't fumble). So I don't think Case has "earned a spot".

Johnson hasn't lit it up. But every time I watch him, he looks like he's a pretty tenacious blocker. So there's that. He could be a poor-man's Rasheed Bailey.

When we activate Lawler, both of them would be a prime candidate for the PR in my opinion.
