Haha that's wild.

Well, I can now officially say they are wrong... or sort of wrong.  I think I've showed up for 3 SWAG giveaway games since I became a STH.  For every single one there is no one giving away the SWAG at the center tailgate entrance.  Including the towels tonight.  And I showed up 1.5 hours before KO.

However, they seemed to be giving away the towels at the other 2 (side) tailgate entrances, because I saw tons of people coming from the kids area entrance who had towels.

Luckily I was able to get some from the kind people inside of gate 3.  My kids really liked them, and were able to use as blankets near game end.

Moral of the story: if you want the SWAG, don't go in the center tailgate entrance!

Quote from: J5V on June 27, 2025, 01:43:21 AMPeterson was never down there. Why did the official blow the whistle? Of course no comment about it by Glen or Dustin.

Because he was embarrassed by not whistling the last one dead and didn't want his scorecard for the night to look any worse.

Quote from: J5V on June 27, 2025, 02:04:31 AMCould that not have been challenged or wouldn't it have made a difference?

You probably could challenge, but you'd gain nothing because they'd rule the play blown dead where they did and that's that.  They will admit he wasn't down but give you zero extra yards.

Didn't we do precisely that with Demski last season?

It has to be this way because you can't tell if the D let up once they heard the whistle.  Let's say the RB gets a TD after the whistle, should that count when no D is chasing him?  No.

The key is to let them play if unsure, and correct it later, because command can "blow a play dead earlier", but you can never "take back a whistle".

Quote from: The Zipp on June 27, 2025, 02:07:17 AMwhy why didn't we take the ball to start the half

The wind was pretty stout for most of the game (I'm in 200-level high up where all the kicks go).  It was dying down a fair bit by the end, but maybe MOS didn't know that?

We won the toss and deferred and chose to take the wind in the 2nd Q.  Then we did the same in the 2nd H.

This is totally on-point with MOS.  He always does this.

We definitely did better with the wind in both halves, so shouldn't we say he was right?

They weren't handing out the towels at any of the tailgate entrances. They were stationed across from where CJOB broadcasts their pre-game show. They did the same thing last year.

Quote from: Blue In BC on June 27, 2025, 03:49:37 AMYeah, I was expecting a penalty for rough play hitting a defenceless receiver. No doubt that hurt but I don't think he sustained any injury. Might get an extra day before starting to practice.

He left the game early and went to the locker room. He was injured to some degree.

Quote from: Pigskin on June 27, 2025, 03:46:52 AMWheatfall was feeling that hit. You could tell he is hurting sitting on the bench.

I thought his head bounced on the turf.... Ie concussion. Just a guess of course,

if you include yards across the field behind the line, and yards running towards your own endzone?

Ford has Zach there.

Defence did a good job of containing him.

Elks linebacker 45 is not going to enjoy watching himself get deked by swivel hips Zach as #8 ran it in for a td.

Play of the year so far. Made me laugh.

Elks defence was really good actually.  Definitely their job 1 was stopping the bombers run game.

Till the Last Bomber drive which was like the days of Willard Reaves.... Could not be stopped.

The crowd, the packed stadium .... So great to see.

That was a very entertaining game.

He was back on field with about 6 minutes left in the 4th Q. Hopefully nothing more than having his bell rung. he's becoming a force on offence and never want a player to be injured.
One game at a time.

Hmmm. Bombers are 3rd highest scoring team after 3 games. 8 behind Montreal but only 1 behind the Riders ( so virtual tie for 2nd ). On defence have given up the 2nd least points 57 which is only 1 point behind the Als at 56.

Impressive

Just a hunch but I don't think us fans are the only ones bothered by the Grey Cup loss last season.
