This is a "take no prisoners" game.  It would be easy to let up for a game against the Elks after beating the Lions two in a row.  As ZC08 stated, there is much to improve on despite the winning the first two games of the season so it will me pedal to the metal in front of another big Winnipeg crowd at PA Stadium.

As of June 24th, the following players show up on the injury list, with some likely ready to play on
Thursday...

Ed Tait's 48-Hour Primer is here...

"...OLIVEIRA OUT/DEMSKI QUESTIONABLE: Short week for the Blue Bombers with Saturday's win followed by Thursday's home date with the Edmonton Elks at Princess Auto Stadium.

Tuesday's injury report confirms running back Brady Oliveira will miss a second straight game while all-star slotback Nic Demski is listed as questionable after suffering an ankle injury in Saturday's game...."

Depth Chart will be available tomorrow (Wednesday).  Let's Go Bombers!

Yikes, Demski didn't look too bad (found the shots and slowmos and studied), should be minor and my guess is we GTD him and he probably plays, otherwise he'll be out an extra week.

If Demski out then it's dominos on the roster again.  Is that why we see D.Mitchell's name on that sheet this time?  No Demski AND no Brady is not great for our roster.  Maybe starting another NAT on the DL to compensate?  Yikes.

Probably gonna roll with just 1 backup OL again (Eli).

Need the injury bug to hit IMPs, not starting NATs!  Argh!

Getting Mitchell on the roster would be difficult but not impossible. I don't want to change the DL due to a mobile QB. It could mean bumping depth at RB for better strength at receiver.  It would also be a ratio change in starters that would have to be taken into account. In that sense there are not many options.

It's just a guess but I think Demski plays and perhaps Cobb is added as depth.

depth charts are out  - as I expected no changes - Demski is GTD

Where? If there are no changes I guess it's moot but that's what we expected. I should note that some suggested that Mitchell could be added if Demski can't play.

In theory that CAN'T happen since Mitchell is on the 1 game IR. You can't add a player from the IR on game day. A change would mean it would have to come from the PR meaning Cobb or Case or even both as choices.

I think if the team expected more chance that Demski wouldn't play than he would, then we'd have seen roster movement early this week, at least as far as moving Mitchell off IR.

Note that I said more chance he wouldn't play, but I think he'll play. Obviously that may go down differently in warm ups, but choices are limited.

As far as other possible changes, I think in each case, players that have been here longer win out in the short term. We'll get to see Cooley for at least this week.

We never want to see any new injuries but I mentioned last week we certainly don't want to see an injury at OT or DE. Those could be ugly in game situations.

At some point we have to reduce the number of players on the 1 game IR that are healthy, IMO.

Given the choice I'd side with caution and would always rest players that are questionable, Demski is a valuable asset, let him heal properly.  This game is not mega important and there are reasonable backup options available, let them play and earn a game cheque while Demski gets a game off with pay.

It's not the worst suggestion but it's not always the reality in the CFL. We were playing Neufeld and he was nicked going into the 1st game. Roster size, ratio and options available.

I might be more comfortable with Cobb as the alternative since he's at least played in the CFL while Corcoran is a rookie. The other factor is that we already have 2 new starters are receiver in the mix.

The trainers have to decide whether there is further risk and whether he can perform at a high level. He could be used in more decoy aspects but then the depth is diluted if he's not taken off the roster.

Nic Demski game-time decision for Winnipeg Blue Bombers against Elks
By 3Down Staff -June 25, 2025

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have listed Canadian receiver Nic Demski as a game-time decision when they host the Edmonton Elks on Thursday night.

The 31-year-old native of Winnipeg, Man. has caught five passes for 54 yards and two touchdowns through two games this season, both of which resulted in wins over the B.C. Lions. He did not practice this week due to an ankle injury.

The four-time All-West Division selection has surpassed the 1,000-yard mark in both of the last two seasons. Over 138 career regular-season games, Demski has caught 432 passes for 5,338 yards, rushed for 828 yards, and scored 42 touchdowns.

The Blue Bombers haven't made any changes to their depth chart from last week's win in Vancouver, which saw Zach Collaros throw for 179 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in his season debut.

Brady Oliveira, who will remain out this week, will be replaced again by rookies Matthew Peterson and Quinton Cooley, who combined for 18 carries for 85 yards last week.

Through two games, Winnipeg ranks third in points per game, sixth in net offence per game, first in points allowed per game, and sixth in net offence allowed per game.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers (2-0) will host the Edmonton Elks (0-2) at Princess Auto Stadium on Thursday, June 26 with kickoff slated for 8:30 p.m. EDT. A victory would give the Blue Bombers their first 3-0 start since 2022.
