You called it correctly. Rider fans Reddit.... Rouge is terrible. lol.

How many times did the Argos try and punch it in from the one yard line? 5?6?  Their short yardage team is awful.

You may have heard of seismic activity in the Calgary area tonight... That was just me banging my head repeatedly trying to understand how this team can find a new way to lose every week.

No excuse with their defence defending the way it did.
My wife is amazing!

Quote from: Jesse on August 23, 2024, 02:46:26 AMJust a terribly played game on both sides.

Either of these teams scaring anyone?

I still want to know how we lost to the Argos.
Money is no object...especially when you have none.

Zero excuses, TH and Mueller went into a shell after the 2nd int, Mace called an absurdly idiotic timeout, etc.

Such a frustrating loss. I would say it can't get worse but, I have no doubt it can.

Yes, the close games don't seem to be going your way lately. We can relate. We went through something similar at the beginning of the year. Including one against the Riders.

Young coaching staff, etc. I get it. Just frustrating.

Luckily, next week is the LDC and that is the best game of the year, every year. Can't wait, as it's the only game I am able to get to this year. Going with my dad who hasn't been in years.

Just rewatching the last couple of minutes:

The Riders called a timeout because the play clock was very close to running out. If they got a timecount, it would have been 3rd down with 30 secs left and the clock wouldn't have started until the snap. As it turned out, I think they would have barely got the play off. But I can understand why they called the timeout from the bench. Can't really fault him for that.

It was Suitor who said they should give up the safety. There would have been 30 seconds left and you give the ball back to Toronto. Uh uh Glen.

Suitor never seems to realize he was mistaken about the clock starting after an incomplete pass and keeps babbling on about how he thinks the Riders snapped the ball to quickly on the last punt.  Uh uh #2 Glen. (Rod Smith never catches on either)

TSN never shows the critical holding call the sent the Riders back to their 8 yard line on the last kickoff. Riderfans think it was a bad call. How do they know if it wasn't shown? Oh right, every call against them is bad.

The Argos just took the game over at the end. Shades of the 16 - 2 team last year. Things just keep getting more interesting in the CFL this year.

I'm catching up on the game now...

TOR dropsies has been really bad and obvious.  Daniels has had 3 in his hands and dropped all 3, including a sure TD (so far).

Coxie is the only one that seems to be able to hold on.

SSK will hit you at the point of catch, often early.  Refs mostly don't care.

Get some hands, TOR!  You have this game!  Kelly is looking better than T.Harris after the 1Q.  Funny, it really was after Harris took hits and threw INTs.  His mental state hasn't changed in years.

Sayles taking weak DPI every single week.  Remember in Sayles year 1-2 here with us?  He was an illegal contact factory.  Every game was 1-2 IC flags.

It got so bad that MOS (so the story goes) made him wear oven mitts and 2 weeks later he got almost no IC calls again.

Mace needs to oven-mitt him up again.  All of these DPIs are weak or fake, but he is grasping at the Rs and thus they are flagging him.  Don't grasp and you won't get DPI (well, one would hope).

Quote from: The Zipp on August 23, 2024, 01:56:45 AMYup.  Stupid play call but my goodness take the points

No, you get SY unit that can get 90% on 1Y!  If you have a 90% SY unit, botching it twice from the 1 has a probability of 1 in 100.  I'll take those odds any day of the week.

The problem is TOR is wasting the first down trying the sweep-style sneak.  That requires just 1 defender to get lucky, or for the math to catch up with you by 1 at the end of the line.

Maybe with 1:30 on the clock you take the points.  Otherwise I go for it every time if I have WPG's SY unit.

Quote from: The Zipp on August 23, 2024, 02:31:54 AMRouged it !!!

Remember that game Leggs was sucking and we lost the game right at the end on a missed FG when he could have hoofed it harder and just gotten the rouge to win?

Ya, this is a repeat of that.

And look, Lirim knew to hoof that sucker because the FG aspect didn't matter... what mattered was getting that 1 point.  And I don't even blame Leggs... this is a coaching thing.  Whoever if TOR ST coach, he did his job right there.

Good job TOR!  Kelly looked pretty darn good for a guy who hasn't played in nearly 10 months.  THANKS TOR!!  THANKS GHOST DINWIDDIE!  THANKS KELLY, keep your babysitter nearby!

Quote from: Pete on August 23, 2024, 02:32:49 AMsuitor still hasn't figured out the clock doesnt start til its snapped on an incomplete pass

To be fair, he could have meant SSK was going to run around in circles in the EZ instead of kick it... but that would probably be even stupider because that gives up a safety no matter what the clock does!

I was heavily LOLing at Suits.  Either way, it's one of the silliest things he's ever said.

I'll look for it and get back to you.  Often these things are caught in the corner of the screen.
