Augustine nicked up

I didn't see anything, but I'll go back and look.  JA27 is critical as depth for BO20 in the post-season.  Maybe we should have split RB reps with McCrae, who is a bit more "expendable".

So we'll have to worry most about Sheed, then Johnny.  Everything else looks ok or minor, eh?

I can't believe CGY gave up on the game later in the 3rd when they put in Stevens.  They were within 2 TD.  Chickens!!  Cost me a pickem, grumble grumble.  Nice finger to their home fans who toughed it out!!

Why on earth is grant returning a punt with 36 seconds left in a 23 point game. That?s the stupidest things I?ve seen ever from our bench and that?s saying something. If grant gets hurt, our return game is ZERO!!

TecnoGenius

Johnny back out for V formation.

So how did we like Richmond?  (Besides the 1 whiff)

It turned out okay.

Has there ever been a 6 win playoff team in the 18 game era? East or West? I can't remember one.

Bombers played a relatively clean game. Few penalties and only 1 turnover.

Many of our Canadians played very well: Oliveria ( of course ). However, O'Leary-Orange and Woli had very good games. Eli and Dobson played well and Augustine looked good in relief.

I may have to re-assess after watching the game again to see how Hallett and Kelly looked. Gauthier got lots of reps to get back into game condition.

OTOH not a lot of the defensive players stood out. Fox might have been the best of the newbies. Overall they didn't give up much in points or yardage but at least some of that was Calgary being inept?

Bailey came up limping ( hamstring ) on a non contact move. Augustine nicked a bit but not sure exactly what happened.

Mcrae is not more expendable, especially with Shoen and now Bailey hurt, he may play a big role.

Oh no, not a good look for Bailey.  Non-contact injury often spells trouble.  Sheed is critical to post-season!!

What's the assessment?  Hammy like TSN said?  He was gripping the back of thigh, so unlikely knee, and hopefully not achilles.  He looked pretty upset on the sidelines in that quick shot.

He reached out to grab the top of his right leg. We need him in the WDF. Not sure how serious that was quite yet.

His TD catch and run were as good as it gets. Great effort on every play.

More expendable if Schoen and Sheed are ok.  We cannot roll with a non-NAT backup for Brady.

CGY may have played it smarter than WPG: they appeared to get out with zero injuries.  I said at the beginning it looked like we were being too physical.  2 or 3 nicks for us, 1 or 2 critical?  Not good.

BOO makes me feel better that he can fill in if required in the post-season.

We can possibly afford one of our main O guys out for the WDF, but we'll need all best hands on deck for the GC.  So far we're losing the battle of the last minute injuries vs TOR.  Hopefully it evens out a bit.

Not sure about the 18 game era, but I know 1981 saw two teams way below .500 make it into the east playoffs. 5-11 Ottawa roughriders and the joke 3-13 Montreal allouettes! I believe Sask was 9-7 and missed out on the west playoffs. This started the clamour for the crossover rule.

Ottawa even made it to the grey cup almost pulled off the biggest grey cup upset in history to boot against Edmonton! Ottawa  blew a 20-1 halftime lead.

Brady mentioned on the post game show that Johnny had a helmet issue so he ran on the field for Augustine. Coach O'Shea yelled at him that he forgot his helmet and he circled back. Apparently Benson handed his helmet to Oliveira, Brady said it felt a little off but it wasn't going to stop him.
