When another team brings in a guy you cut to play a significant role, that gives you an idea where those two teams sit at that position.

Had this been the Riders picking up a player we cut just before a game was to be played, there would be rampant "They want to steal our playbook" snipes.  I really don't think this is the case.  But it surely won't hurt them having him on the roster.

I would expect the QB market to dry up for the CFL given the change to number of QB's NFL teams will be allowed to roster next year, a 3rd active QB without having to use a roster spot? Some teams will start adding more QB's to their practice roster. The Strevs and Bethels of the world probably move themselves up the possible NFL paycheque ladder.
No such thing as too much jet fuel in the tanks, unless your'e on fire :)

Easy with the crushing....it was BC and woeful Vernon Adams that crushed us a couple of weeks ago
We will crush Ottawa.

You do understand his time on field was against backups and cuts, right?  And that his runs were broken plays, something no QB is ever praised for.  I get that the visuals were "electric", but for the wrong reasons against weal opposition.

Are you referring to Streveler or Pigrome???  This is the way all QB careers begin, we only hope a coach can read a players future potential from the little they've shown and make a proper evaluation.  In Piggy's case O'Shea decided not to experiment and went back to what he already knew, throwing the baby out with the bathwater was the easier route for him.

Sure but couldn't we have kept him on the PR? We'll see how the Redblacks change their AR. Logic would suggest they activate their TC cut 1st and Pigrome will end up on their PR or get released.

Unless the Redblacks cut / trade Arbuckle. If they aren't starting him then they've gone full re-build. Time to save some SMS and possibly get some value in trade even if only a draft choice.

Pretty sure Arbuckle is injured, otherwise they would be starting him over Crum.  I didn't pick up on whether he was dressed on the sideline, but another QB was in Crum's ear every time he came off the field, so that might have been him.

100% talking Piggy...

From what I seem to recall, Arbuckle may still be nicked, which is why Crum got inserted.  Guessing Arbuckle in a desperate situation could play, but not wanting to risk him as well.

As to throwing the baby out... we saw last game what Prukop brings.  Short Yardage Perfection.  I'll take that anyday over a development guy that is behind Brown.

You can't make a guy go on your PR, even if your give him roster type money.  And with the QB situation out there in the rest of the league, and Collaros, Brown AND NOW Prukop ahead of you, why would you take a PR spot.  Especially when you can potentially get an AR/IR spot in OTT (or 6 other cities) with fewer entrenched QB's ahead of you on the DC.

The RB can 1 game Arbuckle if he is still nicked, and AR Crum, their TC guy and Piggy, and give them a preseason type look against a real D.  I expect Crum gets the start with a fairly short leash, and

Fairly certain that is the case. Arbuckle was dressed in that game.

I know you can't PR a player unless he accepts. However reports were that we didn't make him that offer.

Yes Arbuckle could be put on 1 game IR but that doesn't mean they will and it would be a short lived time frame.

Like I said, the Redblacks may choose their QB cut in TC as the 1st choice. Pigrome may be offered a PR spot or released out right. Depends somewhat on Arbuckle's situation.

Pigrome being added as the # 3 QB for 1 game is not even guaranteed.

Given how frequently Redblack QB's are getting injured, he could be # 1 by the end of the game. :)

Are you related or something? lol

The Bombers thought he was below Prukop at the moment and we don't think Prukop will be a CFL starter. Most QB's spend time on PR's or # 3 for several years before getting a shot. How many passes have all of our back up QB's thrown since Collaros arrived?

Hahahaha No, I'm not related but maybe I wish I was.
For me, running quarterbacks are so much run to watch! I thought that was consensus, but maybe not.

I think the Bombers made the right move releasing him instead of the other guys, because they have more experience. On a championship contending roster, that's more important than potential.

I do understand that, and it's even noted in my reply!
But that's why I want to see him get a shot against a real CFL squad!

And I wouldn't call those short yardage runs a fair shot. But I do think the Bombers made the right choice for them right now.

From the RB team site...

The Ottawa REDBLACKS announced the following transactions, today:

ADDED:

? American quarterback Tyrrell Pigrome
HEIGHT: 5-9 | WEIGHT: 206 lbs | BIRTHDAY: 1997-10-22
HOMETOWN: Birmingham, AL | SCHOOL: Towson

? American quarterback Jake Dunniway
HEIGHT: 6-1 | WEIGHT: 211 lbs | BIRTHDAY: 1999-08-18
HOMETOWN: Tracy, CA | SCHOOL: Sacramento State

They don't say what roster they were added to, or other moves made to make room for them, but generally, "added" means to the AR...  losing Adams to the IR unexpectedly and regaining Masoli might have left them waiting for Arbuckle with him on the AR as #3 emergency QB even nicked, but now they might have to move him to the 1 game and roster the 3 rooks.

Please don't mention Prukop in the same sentence as "perfection", his G.C. contribution is still too raw and just last game he managed to collide with Oliveira inside the 5 yd. line bungling an obvious TD drive and screwing up my "lock of the week" pick, which oddly enough was Prukop himself.

I liked the guy too and he may have potential. Like I said, I'd rather have kept him on the PR than some of the current candidates. Any team is one play away from losing a QB or any given player.

We will crush Ottawa.
so will everyone else in the league, same for edmonton....I don't see us 'crushing' BC or Toronto though and Calgary gave us a good go recently, so we don't crush everybody, in fact , we got crushed recently, so don't throw the word around carelessly.
