So Greg Ellingson and Darvin Adams still seem to have it despite their changes in team. But will Kenny Lawler now pick up where he left off last season?

Ya, D.Adams was the sneak fantasy pick of the week.  I don't know how I missed it.  Guys fighting against their shafted-me old team always have something to prove.

Was it SJ Green that had a zillion fantasy points a few years back when he played against his old team for the first time?

Cheap pick, huge points.

If Edmonton QB's can get the ball to him, he will make plays.

So British Columbia Lion believers did really well in the first week of Fantasy!

Lol.  I picked Edmonton's defence against a rookie QB, and actually got negative 4 points.  Its week 1, and I'm going to spend the next 10 weeks chasing the guys who stacked Rourke and Butler.....

I was a believer and on Thursday I had Butler+KSB in my team but after the CGY game I thought the receivers were a better pick than RB and I took out both to replace with Burnham.  I was kicking myself all through the BC game... I knew after 2 TD he was going to keep getting more just to rub salt in my wound!!

Butler was worth 44+ points for only $6!  Burnham got me a grand total of bupkiss for $10k.

Worst fantasy mistake of my life.

Kudos to anyone with the guts to pick Rourke!  (I did do well with the BC D...)

Does anyone know longtime Blue Bomber fan and Fantasy player Aardvark? He's sadly MIA this year.

No time for fantasy, sorry...
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

Foxhound

Okay, fair enough.

The poster I'm really worried about now is Blue Girl. She was a very steady longtime poster but the last time she even logged in was 12 June 2020. Does anyone know whether she's well?

Also does anyone know 66 Chevelle? He was a very active poster with 4481 posts between joining on 21 July 2017 and the last day he logged in on 17 August 2021. With the Bombers playing so well that's a very strange time for a Blue Bomber fan to simply go away.

Chevelle goes away for 12-16 months regularly.  I do believe he PMs a few people here, but I haven't personally heard from him since his last post.  I wouldn't worry too much about him.

BlueGirl missing is a little odd.  The problem with a forum like this is unless someone else here knows you personally, people can just disappear and we'll never know what happened.

I've always thought that Fantasy operated as a kind of zero sum game when it came to total player payroll across the system. But now going into Week Two I see huge jumps in the salary of many players, particularly QBs, but I don't see nearly a proportional decrease in the salary of others.

What gives?

Definitely not zero sum.  I've noticed this in other years.  Gets harder and harder and you have to keep picking more no-name guys to fill the spots.  Or leave some spots empty to afford the big guys.

I always find trying to pare my picks of WR's in Fantasy down to three frustrating given that more often than CFL teams play with one set back and five receivers these days. I'm therefore suggesting that Fantasy up the number of WR slots to three so that Fantasy participants would with this suggested change select an eight position lineup:

QB
RB
RB
WR
WR
WR
FLEX
Defence

I'd also then increase the salary cap to $50,000. The changes required in the Fantasy program would be minimal.

Well I'm up to #35 in the CFL Fantasy standings after just seven weeks so I'm off to a pretty good start . With the increase in the price of many of my go-to picks, I've had to hold my nose and make some truly reprehensible picks this week because that's where the best relative values lie. We'll see how that goes for me.
