On the coaches show he mentioned that Willie didn't jump and our guy (Gauthier, but not named by MOS) missed his block, so it was 2 things done wrong and result was losing the ball.

There were some opportunities to run the game clock down a little more. I remember Sheahan punting with about 13 seconds left on the clock when we were trying to kill the clock.

That was poor time management by player and coaches. You only need to mess that up a couple of times late in a game to cause other problems.

We were lucky that we escaped with the win.

Giving up the ball at a critical time was the biggest error of the day, it can't happen again this season.

Yes, Gauthier missing his block was a very big part of that play.

What MOS says is that they had a guy assigned to block Milligan but he was bumped off target on his way over to do so. Also that Willie knows he is supposed to jump and that he used to be a receiver at one time.

Remember the play that ended Mo Leggett's career???  Willy probably does.

What a great Bomber he was. I really hoped he could come back from that achilles injury but alas, achilles injuries are often career enders. So hard to get a good flow of blood to tendons like that. Real shame.
Go Bombers!

The thing is if you do the math, shouldn't Willie's height + arm length be higher than Milligan's height + arm + highest vertical?  Someone run the math.

And it wasn't so much that Willie wasn't going to touch it first as Milligan pushed Willie out of the way because he was coming in with speed.  If Willie jumps there, he likely is in even worse position because Milligan hitting a launched Willie would just fling Willie out of the way.

If we had a couple of guys orbiting Willie, we probably would have been ok, as it's easier to recover the ball while facing it.  Remember, Milligan didn't get it, he just got it down on the turf.

I would hope we use some practice time this week to practice all of this.  We can't allow teams to think this is a 50/50 ball when it should be 10/90.

Just stating the obvious but...

- We started the season with a dismal record,

- We have improved dramatically in the standings, for various reasons,

- We have found a way to overcome mistakes and still come up with wins,

- We are in 1st place and control our destiny.

- Key players seem to be on the verge of returning to the lineup.

What our future holds nobody knows but the trajectory looks positive.
