Saskatchewan Roughriders fielding unchanged roster against Ticats
By 3Down Staff -August 15, 2025

The injury bug has finally stopped biting the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Corey Mace's team will have no changes to their lineup when they face Hamilton on Saturday, continuing to lean on the group that has brought them to seven wins this year. Not even defensive tackle Mike Rose, who missed Wednesday's practice for load management, is unavailable.

Five players remain on the one-game injured list, though quarterback Jack Coan (hand), receiver Shawn Bane Jr. (knee), and defensive back Antoine Brooks (healthy scratch) all practiced fully this week. Only returner Mario Alford (hip) and offensive lineman Daniel Johnson (shoulder) are unable to participate right now.

The six-game injured list is more extensive but remains unchanged. Those still out long term include running backs Ka'Deem Carey and Thomas Bertrand-Hudon; receivers Samuel Emilus and Kian Schaffer-Baker; offensive linemen Sean McEwen, Philippe Gagnon, and Trevon Tate; defensive linemen Lake Korte-Moore and Charbel Dabire; and linebackers C.J. Avery and Aubrey Miller Jr.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders (7-1) will host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (6-3) at Mosaic Stadium on Saturday, August 16 with kickoff slated for 3:00 p.m. EDT. The Tiger-Cats had their six-game winning streak snapped by the B.C. Lions this past week, while the Roughriders were on a bye.

The weather forecast in Regina calls for a high of 25 degrees with a mix of sun and cloud. The game will be broadcast on TSN and CTV in Canada, CBS Sports Network in the United States, and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune-in on the Ticats Audio Network in Hamilton and 620 CKRM in Regina.

All-star DB Jamal Peters, three other key players out for Hamilton Tiger-Cats vs Riders
By 3Down Staff -August 15, 2025

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats will be without several key starters when they face the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Saturday, including lockdown cornerback Jamal Peters.

Peters
(neck) is one of four players who have been placed on the one-game injured list this week. The 28-year-old has appeared in all nine games for the team this year at boundary corner, recording 36 defensive tackles and three interceptions. He was named an East Division all-star during his first season with Hamilton in 2024 after recording 38 defensive tackles and four interceptions.

Also missing from the defensive side of the ball this week will be weak-side linebacker Ray Wilborn, who appears to have been made a healthy scratch after not being listed on the injury report. The Ball State product has made 38 defensive tackles and five special teams tackles this year. Safety Stavros Katsantonis (calf) has been listed as a game-time decision after missing practice all week.

Kyler Fisher will step up into the starting linebacking unit after making five defensive tackles and seven special teams tackles in seven games as a backup. Rookie Zamari Walton will make his debut at boundary corner, while 2025 fourth-round pick Ty Anderson will dress for depth at defensive tackle.

The biggest loss could be that of returner Isaiah Wooden (shoulder), who leads the CFL in both punt and kick return average while scoring three total touchdowns. Defensive back Quavian White will dress for the first time and handle those duties.

On offence, Canadian running back Johnny Augustine (hip) will sit out, with American Kevin Brown making his first appearance for Hamilton after stops in Edmonton and Toronto.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats (6-3) will visit the Saskatchewan Roughriders (7-1) at Mosaic Stadium on Saturday, August 16 with kickoff slated for 3:00 p.m. EDT. The Tiger-Cats had their six-game winning streak snapped by the B.C. Lions this past week, while the Roughriders were on a bye.

#Ticats safety Stavros Katsantonis will not play in today's game due to injury. OL Arvin Hosseini takes his place on the active roster. Here is Hamilton's updated depth chart. #CFL

Hammy's offence no where to be found today.
My wife is amazing!

I didn't see the game today. For those that did, what it enough to crown Sask the CFL's best team?

I'd never say that but it confirmed the Ti-Cats fall apart fairly easily and shouldn't be too hard to beat.

Haha, on one of Bo's scrambles past the LoS around 2Q13:00 he does a spin move like  a RB to get another 6Y.  Wasn't pretty, or fast, but it worked!  That's some entertaining stuff.

That's not DPI 2Q1:45.  Certainly not if uncalled.  Robustelli has his right arm fully extended trying to push off the DB.  He sees the ball is uncatchable and pushes himself off the DB to flop to the turf.  The DB does nothing that makes him fall.  The fall is a classic flop.

You can't say the DB kept him from running back inside because a) the REC was still stiff-arming the DB and he has no right to just push him out of the way, and b) the ball fell at the rail, meaning no inside move was required.

Command has completely changed the standard vs 2024.  They are overturning left, right and center.  After the memo in '24 they basically didn't overturn anything except the most egregious nonsense.  If there was a new memo in the off-season, I wish they would share it with the fans.

Why is HAM so bad at the 2 min drill?  To end the 1st H they took the full 20s clock (with game clock running) to snap the ball.  And they weren't too fast on the other snaps either.

And absolutely no wide outs to stop the clock.  Atrocious.

I'm only half way in and I've never seen BLM get so beat up in a half while in HAM.

Riders are very tough to beat at home, but still Hamilton is a 3 dressed up like a 9 and got 'hammered' today. They are pretenders not contenders, and the scary part is they are on top of the East!!

I am thinking the easiest way to the Grey Cup is getting the cross over spot in the East. Ottawa and Toronto shouldn't make the playoffs/they don't deserve it. I don't think Kelly can come back and make them a playoff team, 2 wins to date, yeesh.

Someone please cross over form the west and make things interesting come playoff time!!

Weird, another KO off-sides in this game.  3 on the year so far?  The stupid thing is, the refs let guys be a bit off-side on every KO, and have for ages.  You really have to go waaay over before they flag it.  Either people are going way over now, or refs are, for whatever reason, tightening up on this rule.

3Q0:31 on the re-done KO, the SSK cover guy is 2 or 2.5Y away from the returner when he first touches the ball (after a hop).  He returns it about 5Y.

Refs did not flag no yards.  I can't think of a more no-yardsy no-yards than this one.  This is truly nuts.  Check it out on freeze frame.  It's not even close (and yes, fully easily visible in real time).

I guess Scott shouldn't have lost his challenge earlier fishing.  You need to keep those refs honest.  Especially in Mosaic.
