Quote from: Jesse on August 17, 2025, 12:18:48 PMHis head bounced off the turf the same way Zach's did on the whiplash/neck injury. Did he leave the game at that point? I thought he still played immediately after.

Trevor INSTANTLY came off.  He played zero snaps after that hit.  From his yelling at Mace I assume he was instantly yanked.  Besides being a smart coaching move to keep him from getting further injured, I think Mace wanted to take it out of the hands of the spotter.

He was 100% going to be yanked after his wobbly walking, and that's optics SSK doesn't need.  If no one forces them to do all the protocol, they can play it loosey-goosey and keep the "does he play" determination in-house, and based on need.

For example, maybe they want to protect him vs CGY in a week in a slobberknocker they may lose, whilst making sure he's allowed to play in the more important LDC.

Quote from: BBRT on August 17, 2025, 08:24:54 PMI agree the only thing we have better than the Riders is our kicker. And I might add that the entire Rider team Offense and Defense across the board is better than what we have. And they may even have a better coach.

Pffffffft.

Better than the Riders: kicker, punter, QB (how many divisional finals has Trevor won??), RB (Oullette is only good because Yoshi is road grading), Demski (better than any Rider REC), Schoen (way better, if healthy), WILL, MLB, strong HB, Willie, NAT placeholder (Clercius>Busby).

Their OL unit is playing better, but we are close if we get Lofton back or sign some beast somehow.

Their DL unit is better as their top guys are way beefier.  The O is clicking better because they have finely tuned the whole operation to suit Trevor and their sub-par RECs.  But our DL is on the uptrend.

Their DBs seem better, but aren't.  It's the pressure making them look good.  With Houston back our DB corps will be killer.

If we could have Houston, Parker, Lofton & Schoen back tomorrow we'd be giving SSK a big run for their money starting LDC.  Without some of those guys, it's harder, but doable.  Who's to say SSK won't lose some key DL/OL guys in the meantime?  Injuries may even out (minus their OL which is already wracked).

Quote from: Jesse on August 17, 2025, 07:47:19 PMLet's be honest, 8-1 pretty much clinches a play-off spot.

But not #1, or even a home date.  But yes, 9 wins is usually enough to get you into the post-season somehow.  Surely they'll get to 9 unless they start a major implosion vs CGY and we blow them up at home in LDC...

The West is the Riders' to lose at this point. As it much as it pains me to make such a statement.

I do think the Tabbies are overrated, though.

Continuously amazed at the lack of reps backup QB's get when the game is already out of hand, this weekend provided golden opportunities for Sask, BC and the Ti-Cats to protect their #1's and help prepare their #2's, yet none of them did it.

Ya, no reason Trevor should have been in to get hit like that.  Mace might do things differently next time.  Trevor is glass.  HAM had no answer in that game and no hope.  So stupid.  Oh well, if Trevor is now out for LDC, that stupidity could be a wonderful gift...

Not sure about that!  Riders need some extra losses.

Knowing Murphy, WPG will win LDC and SSK the BB!  Then everyone is mad!  :P  :P  :P
