Yeah that's not likely but it may mean he wants to catch on with the USFL shortly. He would have been a free agent in 6 weeks or so anyway so he must have some sort of plan.

Ha, you think Butler has no chance, I had to look up who the heck Elliot Brown was and he's getting a shot!! If Betts couldn't make it, who was the league defensive MVP, what makes Brown think he can??

Elliot Brown is a good pass rusher similar in style to Willy with his speed moves, they'd make a great set of bookends.

I knew Stanback wouldn't be out of a job long. Ottawa just got alot better, his running and pounding the defense as well as his ability to catch passes out of the backfield will really help Brown and the offense out. Good signing by Ottawa!!

Agree, Stanback is getting a bit long in the tooth but he's still more effective than James Butler. Good for the Bombers, they won't have to worry about the Lions running game, Butler is easy to shut down.

I always thought Stanback was pretty overrated.

Either way, BC is going to have to shed a bit of money for this season with Rourke earning his full contract now. RB was an easy choice to start the cuts.
