He will play against the Redblacks, with Dhel Duncan-Busby coming off the roster.

Electric return man DeVonte Dedmon returns to lineup for Ottawa Redblacks vs Saskatchewan Roughriders

The Ottawa Redblacks will be getting one of the Canadian Football League's premier returners back for Thursday's contest with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

DeVonte Dedmon re-enters the lineup after missing the past two games with a hip injury. The 28-year-old from William & Mary has had a bounce-back 2024 campaign, returning 23 punts for 274 yards while adding 13 kickoff returns for 387 yards and a touchdown.

Dedmon will serve as the team's designated nationalized American, allowing him to replace a Canadian starter for up to 25 plays in the game or sub in for any other American.

The Redblacks will have one other major change in their defence, as weakside linebacker Frankie Griffin returns to the lineup after being out with a hip injury. The 28-year-old has registered 23 defensive tackles in four games so far this season.

The news isn't all good for Ottawa though, as American receiver Bralon Addison and former first overall pick Dontae Bull were both added to the one-game injured list.

Addison has 16 receptions on the season for 168 yards while Bull has one start at right tackle.

Dru Brown might be in contention for MOP this season the way many starting QB's have gone down so far. Fajardo might have been in the running, but with injury his chances lessen. WHO REALLY is in this discussion at the mid point of the season....maybe some defensive players?

Olivera leads the rushing crown at the moment. No receiver heads and tails above others. Janarion Grant could also be in the discussion too I think as he leads in all purpose yards. Nobody really standing out to me in the MOP discussion at this time. Second half will really determine who wins this award come GC time.
