Jeffcoat in one last hurrah I suppose
Hansen out I think he is done
Haba in
Thomas out retires
Walker in for now
Lawson in
Fox in for now
Schmekel out

Bighill out retires
Clements in

Mauro in for now
Cole in
Beeksma out

Alexander out retires
Darby out
Hallett in
Kramdi in
Houston in
Rose out
Nichols in
Holm in
Lawrence out
Parker out
Kelly in

DL

- I think the Jeff's, Haba, Lawson are back.
- If history repeats, Walker will leave via FA.
- Fox didn't really get any opportunity here, but maybe fills Walker's role

LB

- Bighill is signed for next year and wants to be back
- I think everyone re-ups, Briggs may retire

Secondary

- Darby is definitely out
- Rose finished the year on the bench, so he might be out
- I can see Houston, Kramdi, Nichols, Hallett, and Alexander all re-signed.
- I haven't seen Parker's/Holm's names on the FA lists, so I think they're already signed.

Don't think we can assume any player wants to return to Winnipeg just on the basis of good-will, or because they think the club can go to the cup. Those days are now gone.

How are "those days" gone now?

It's way too early to make any predictions, much less baseless assumptions.

That's a really long list of potential free agents. I count 17 starters and some very important specialists as well like Grant and Castillo.

Let's see if Walters gets a new deal quickly which will then help getting players back on board.

This. His contract situation needs to get sorted out as quickly as possible. That's a crucial step in getting the off-season off in the right direction, IMO.

It has to be Wade's priority, hopefully he gets it done within the next few weeks.

As I understand it, both Miller and Walters agreed to wait until after the season to resume negotiations. I'm hopeful they'll return to the table in short order and get a new contract for the best GM in the game.

Is Zach a team man ? Take a hair cut and give some to Brown. More playing time for Brown and Zach can stay healthy for retirement. A few others can take a cut or be cut. Money for Schoen.

It's not that the list is long but this year's list includes 17 starters. That's the unusual part of the list. On offence only Collaros, Demski and Lawler are not potential free agents.

IIRC last years list was a bit shorter.

I agree it would be beneficial for Collaros to take a cut in his salary as far as that money being used to retain others. Is that fair? Not really but it might be a discussion to take up with him.

I don't know if Zach would accept it but if he's seriously contemplating retiring after 2025, he might agree to share playing time with Brown, or at least give him a good package he can run numerous times every game.  Doesn't solve the money issue but it might be enough to convince Brown the job is his when Zach leaves.

Even if Zach decided today that he was going to retire two years from now, I can't see Dru waiting around that long.
