Out to lunch maybe. :)
Sounds like it! Are we going for it this year or not?

I believe I am not a cheerleader here but it does amaze me that some people are questioning, for example, why we did not sign Lemon, why we not dealing with a perceived aging process on the Oline, why we are not searching for the next Joe O. Lineman, why we are not upgrading the practice roster, etc. etc.

Prior to training camp virtually everyone was applauding the fact we retained the team core, coaching and scouting staff.  Some people were panicking whether nor not we would be able to extend Walters for 3 more years.

It stretches the imagination to think this organization would suddenly drop the ball or become complacent in their search to improve the team where needed.  Clearly Lemon was not a fit - either financially, culturally or talent-wise.

IF the team believes they should bring in more talent to be assessed, they will.  No doubt the search is always on for improved and/or potentially future talent.  They have pretty much shown that over the past recent years.

Well it's pretty clear they failed to address their needs along the D-line identified in the off-season, they brought in a few good  candidates worth developing and promptly cut them instead of making room for them on the PR, leaving the problem still bubbling.  Now that Habba is out it puts even more strain on the Jeff's to play more downs and remain healthy, how long before one of them ends up on the 6-game, leaving a gaping hole in the pass rush?

I think you weren't paying attention if you don't remember people being worried about planning for some of our aging core, and addressing depth at LB and the DL.

Our only rotational DE wasn't even in training camp and is now injured and we don't have a replacement - because there were never any brought in. Wilson wasn't ready for camp and Darby has already been benched...but again...no one was in camp to challenge him or to replace him so we have Khramdi doing an ineffective job there.

Meanwhile, we're using a DA spot on an american FB with a 36 year old punter on the PR.

Not only have people brought these issues up...we brought them up last year....
My wife is amazing!

I have no problem not bringing in Lemon but he might have been a good addition. I have a problem that we broke TC with no depth on the DL once injuries struck. I said so during and once the roster was declared.

We've played 7 games and we have not brought in players to look at where we have injuries. If doesn't take a rocket scientist to see have some issues.

Retaining the roster was mostly an achievement. Not knowing we'd not have Lawler until game 7, not so much.

There are only 3 players on the PR that weren't here last year or part of the 2023 draft.

I think it's fair to question the inactivity considering the number of injuries we've had.

If you're standing still, then you're losing ground.

There needs to be some newbies brought in for a look see on our PR. DE's and LB's in particular.

I agree with this. They may be banking on Hansen and Wilson coming back at their former level of play, but that's not a given due to their type of injury. It seems other teams are able to uncover quality American DE and LBs. Haba was a good find, but we need more. Unfortunately, the problem of expanded PR in NFL, 2 new leagues, and the low pay on the practice roster may make it harder to convince Americans to even come up here.

Right, I had no idea Hansen and Wilson would miss half this season but pretty sure the team knew in the off-season that would be the case.

Maybe DE Nick Usher is a cheaper option than Lemon. As a rotational DE I don't mind bringing him in and maybe he will be able to go back to his 2019 form.

QuoteIn 2019, Usher played in all 18 regular season games where he had 36 defensive tackles, six sacks, and three forced fumbles.[5] He also played in his first career post-season games, in the East Semi-Final and East Final, the latter of which the Eskimos lost to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.[5] He was granted an early release on January 2, 2020, in order to sign with a National Football League team.[6]

No sense in crying over a spilled milk... in this case Lemon.

Isn't Usher a DB?

Its hard to find players at this time of the year. There will be a lot of players that will come available when the NFL gets down to cutdown day. Early September is usually when we could see some players come here. I wouldn't be surprised if Ford is back with the team in a little over a month.

I am going to say at 6'4" 260, he is not a DB. He's also not having  a great year. 5 games, 5 DTs, 1 Sack.

Hahahah.  You are correct

I'm not trying to be sarcastic here, but can anyone tell me what they think Kramdi did poorly in his first start?

I know that SLB spot is one that you wouldn't really notice the screw ups like you would from a MLB or a DB. I find it odd that it's almost consensus that Kramdi is not our longterm solution for that SLB spot.

He has been one of our best players on special teams for the past couple years, and he is only 26 years old.
I'm not concluding that he will be a great SLB. But it takes a lot for MOS to start a youngster over a veteran, so he must see some things in practice that we haven't seen yet in game.
