This is a game we have to win if we want to keep the chance of home field advantage a live. Buck will have to come up with a better protection package for ZC8.

We can scheme all we want, but BC's OL is much better than ours, and their DL gets more pressure than ours. Willie and JJ generate some pressure, but the Lions double up on them and we get zero pressure from our middle so Adams is free to make all the plays he wants. Conversely, Betts had a field day last time we played against our OL.  We can bring extra men into our backfield to double up on whomever comes free, as guaranteed, there's going to be problems.

Why has our OL weakened so much from the previous couple of years?

This was written in one of the CFL articles last year.

1. Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Stanley Bryant, Winnipeg Blue Bombers ? Arthur Ward / CFL.ca
Arguably the best offensive line unit since the 2019 season, led by left-tackle Stanley Bryant struggled to get going in the run game but dominated in the passing game. Giving up zero sacks on 29 pass attempts is a solid confidence boost to start the season.

We will be rested and hungry.  We will find a way.

Another game where it will be interesting to see what the final roster looks like. Wilson and Rose might be back.

I'd guess we'll see if Darby was / is nicked and returns to his starting role. If not, could we possibly see ADS shifted to SAM and Rose back at CB? ADS is a little light but a tackling machine.

Some have suggested that Karamoko or Cole might be candidates. IDK about that but we certainly can't use Kramdi again. That will be an issue.

We shall see.  Kramdi is good enough to rotate.  Some interesting comments here.

I have seen a steady improvement from Walker, last game was his best so far. It has been our linebacker play that has me concerned. Kramdl as mentioned is a good rotational player but against bc his pass coverage will really come into play.  Hopefully Wilson is ready to play cause Briggs and Marou aren't starter material either and Bighill isn't making the impact plays he has in the past.

Agree Walker has improved and fit in nicely this year.  He has patiently waited for his opportunity and my hope is that he can maintain the energy and effectiveness he has shown to date.  A really pleasant surprise.

Agree with this. Rewatched the game and Briggs was terrible against Edmonton. There were several plays were Cornelius was past the line of scrimmage and scrambling, and Briggs was still in pursuit mode after a receiver in the flat who he had lost in coverage and was acutally running away from Cornelius. It was almost comical. Kramdi made some plays, but also was bad at times. Hard to evaluate Bighill under those kind of circumstances, although probability is that he's lost a step at his age. I"m just worried Wilson won't be the player he was before injury, at least not this season. We'll see.

I saw Darby on the field a couple of times but he didn't record a stat. Since we already had Parker on the roster doing returns, Darby was a waste of a DI spot. I assume he was the DI. One of McCrae or Parker would have been a DI and one would have been a non starting import due to starting 8 Canadians.

That said, the question of depth at SAM if Darby wasn't the back up is still a question.

IMO based on that game day roster I would think Alexander might have been the best choice. Hallett is not bad when he moves to safety.

I wouldn't like to see that long term, but I have no idea what the problem is at SAM.  What's Rutledge doing now and has that bridge been burned to the ground?

Hmmmm. Lawrence has the size and cover skills to play SAM. He's only missed 4 games and hasn't been practising. I think he's potentially eligible to practice if he's healthy enough. SMS taking him off early wouldn't help but if he's ready, is that a consideration? It would solve the issue of where to play or roster all these DB's.

Yes, it looks like the Bombers might have found another quality DT in Walker. 7 Games in 12 Tackles, and 3 sacks. Not to bad for his first year starting.

Interesting choice, given his options, he'll earn playoff money but long-shot for a Grey Cup bonus.

Nick Usher is now available. He might be a decent lower cost player until Haba recovers.
