I expect a very vanilla bomber team - they will go with a basic game plan I think.

Masoli torn Achilles done for the year and maybe for good. :'(

Certainly possible considering how the last year has gone for him. That's a tough injury for any QB but especially one who relies on his mobility to make plays.

one has to think that after what he has already gone through with injuries that he may hang 'em up....however that all rests on Jeremiah's determination to continue to pursue the game he loves!   It's a loss to the CFL should he retire....I'm pulled for him regardless which path he chooses!

These non-contact injuries can keep piling up once they start. The future looks bleak for Masoli. Not many players come back from two injuries of this significance back to back.
Some people take this forum way too seriously.

I think at this point the RB's have to draw a line in the sand for the salvation of the organization, "thanks Jeremiah, but no more".

There's the desperation factor built in.

They've had no QB for years and kept living on the hope that "when Masoli came back", they were going to be successful. If he wants to attempt the come back (again), and they still don't have another option....

You have to admit, though, a healthy Masoli is a top QB in the league.  So waiting on him is justified.  The fact he has turned to glass was not on anyone's bingo card.

Yes, time to develop the next one.  Arbuckle isn't that, but he is a good backup/mentor.  I am sure we will see a parade of starters until someone makes that spot his own.

Wondering what the Oline is doing, Dejarlais was supposed to anchor it.  Are they still "coming together" as it were?
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

From Derek Taylor:

Day 1 of Bombers practice. Jamal Parker is dressed for today. He?s been on 6-game for 5 games so he is eligible to practice.

Same 5-game thing for FB Konner Burtenshaw. He?s still sporting a cast on his left hand.
And Winston Rose is participating in the stretching period, which is good news.

This is LB Kyrie Wilson?s first practice since he tore his Achilles in Week 4 of 2022.
One year and one week ago.

No sign of Janarion Grant who suffered what looked like a left ankle injury in the Calgary game. He was seen on crutches on Saturday.

Demerio Houston and Abu Daramy-Swaray are back catching punts against the #1 punting unit. Curious to see who the Bombers use to replace Janarion Grant

From Bauming:

Dru Brown still away for personal reasons

Sounds like mostly good news. I don't think we take any of them off the 6 game IR for the moment. Our next two games are against weaker teams in theory. After game 6 or 7 makes sense.

How any possible returning players impacts the AR is another question. Easing someone in as a DI 1st possibly but that's not always an easy choice if you aren't replacing a DI that plays the same position ( LB for LB ) etc. New injuries this week or next are unknown which may force a decision. Which current injured player is deemed better than the current player is something for the coaches to evaluate.

Two DB's might be ready to return but we can't keep everybody on the AR.

Not sure if we're going to lose Grant or for how long. Could be precautionary or serious.

Dru Brown for a 2nd week not here? Not a problem unless Collaros gets nicked.

He has one good season 5 years ago. Beyond that it's all been part time as a back-up or missing time to injury.

The league's been waiting on him his entire career. I said earlier this year that I don't ever expect him back.

I went to the vet with my goldfish.
"I think it's got epilepsy" I says.
The vet takes a look & says, "It seems calm enough to me."

Stupid vet - I hadn't taken it out of the bowl yet.

Masoli came within a sliver of beating the Bombers in the 2021 G.C. I think you're selling him a bit short.

He has the tools to be successful and was for a time (2017, 2018). Since tearing his ACL early in the 2019 season, he's yet to play a anywhere close to a full season.

Between splitting duties in Hamilton to Marino's disgusting antics a year ago, it's been more misfortune for him than anything else.

Age isn't on his side, either. We saw here in Winnipeg what accruing injuries can do to a mobile QB's efficacy as he ages.

Still no Hansen at practice. What was his injury last year? Knee injury of some sort?
