Anyone catch the official number?  Either we were getting chow when they said, or they just didn't say.  Can believe >30k, my normally dead section was pretty busy.  Lots of families.  Everyone seemed to have a good time in the 2nd half.

I guess these families wait until school is out, then they all show up.
Never go full Rider!

Nice crowd.  Cottage / camping / beach crowd is a big factor.  I'm a cottager full time and I don't really care which day, just want max attendance and TV numbers.

Don't recall it being announced at the game, but saw a team tweet that said 30,561.
Money is no object...especially when you have none.

Sounds logical.

The Cottage excuse was thrown in the trash based on yesterdays crowd. Nuff said.

If I were in charge, every Bomber game would be a Friday or Saturday and every weekend would be a long weekend.

In my 51st year of season tickets, living over an hour away from the city.
I can understand and accept a couple of Thursday night games but as mentioned here already, Friday night football rocks.
There is a very large rural fan base and I trust after last night's game turnout (not the first) Wade and company look
at maybe doing 4 and 2 for Friday vs Sat for next year, not the 2 and 4 we had this year for June, July and August.
Its a late night getting home for Friday morning work and I am sure for those even further away than myself, a weekday game night
is avoided.

It's not an accuse, it's a fact.  Many people go to cabins, beaches and camping.  Yesterday proves that for this Friday many showed up anyway.  Doesn't throw anything in the trash.  Best to have a balanced discussion here on the topic.  Lots of factors that play into scheduling, tv deals, attendance, etc.  We all have different preferences for which day of the week for home games.  We also all want the same thing likely, maximize revenue for the league to ensure long term viability of all the CFL great fanchises.  I was so happy to see that many, it was loud and I was proud.

Well said PJ.  Not a cottager myself, but agree we want what is best for the team and league.  Hopefully more Friday games as that seems to be a bit of a compromise for cottagers (better than Saturday in the middle of the weekend), and helps the rural fans not have to go in Friday morning paying for it.

Yes it is a fact that people go away on weekends.

It's also a fact that attendance suffers on Thursdays.

Some people may have cabins that affects weekend games. But everyone has to deal with work/school/childcare/etc that comes with Thursday games.

The Bombers understand their fans. Any one game isn't indicative of anything and isn't really the major influence. Season ticket holders are the main consideration concerning the home game schedule.

They know if they were to move every game to Friday or Saturday there would be people who would cancel immediately. They also know not everyone likes the Thursday games as much.

It's a balance. The idea is to make sure that there are enough free weekends (Thursday games) for cottage season ticket holders who either won't mind missing a game or two or will stay in the city another day to attend the game here or there. On the other hand, it's not possible for the league to have them play every Thursday in the summer and they know it's not the preferred date of a lot of people who don't get out of town regularly in the summer.

Keep things balanced and neither group is excluded to the point of cancelling their season's tickets.

I would challenge that if we had games on Saturdays during the summer, the numbers would look a lot like Thursdays.

Fridays are perfect because you don?t have to base your entire weekend around the Bomber game. In summer, there are plenty of other things to do besides just the cabin too. A beach day for example becomes way less easy if you have to get to a game, especially if you have kiddos

I can agree Friday is a nice compromise.
