The Bombers did try to switch him to OL.
I liked him in the preseason last year on the DL. I think he registered a sack too.

Lawson being hurt is why we have smeckle on the active ar, no way is adamson broought back right now
Speaking on injured lists ..Ottawa has 12 already on the list including masoli..may need to rethink how they approach preseason. (unless its just hiding players)

R'uh r'oh.

Is there any chance that this is largely explained by snapcounts as opposed to productivity?

Only Fatboi and Sayles were a mostly-every-down player.  The others saw rotation, but not anywhere near the snap count.

Fatboi's sack count is impressive for an older NAT DT.  Did Ted Laurent beat that level?

Fatboi has trouble shedding the blocks, especially on a holding team like SSK.  He also sometimes gets steamrolled.  I actually like him better on the pass-rush as a disrupter and discomfort-maker.  While he has trouble shedding, he is a good pursuer for his size (but "pursuer" is not what you want from a DT).

Now I'm wondering what Nevis & Stove's best season stats looked like...

Winnipeg's defence does not seem ready.  Two games played and not many "big" plays.

Bo can still dink and dump.  Bomber corners can not tackle.  the usual back out of the backfield covered by who?

Hamilton has had two games to see the poor front seven line play.

I don't know....

We saw a lot of guys that are not on our active roster play pretty poorly for stretches.
The few that played really well are on our active or practice roster.

Ya, chill.  The PS games meant nothing.  Pick any random play and we had at most 1 or 2 starters (sometimes 0) on the field!!  Seriously, I was scanning the personnel on the field with binocs all game to count the starters and it was usually 1 guy.  Later on it was zero guys.

We were just testing the B-teams, TC fodder guys, and rookie DPs.  The other teams were playing quite a few starters and DI guys quite a lot.

Facts are presented above

Nevis best season with the Bombers. 2018. 26 DT, 2 Sacks.
Richardson  "       "         "       "        2019. 25 DT, 2 Sacks.

Our receiving corps is second to none.  Even without Lawler we should be the best in CFL.  Our QB can make plays.  The OL should be as good as last year, which is CFL top-3 for sure.

And in the other corner we have half-washed-up BLM and White, and a maybe-good-but-unproven OL.  That's it, that's all.

Don't forget that Zach and the O crew should still have a massive chip on their shoulder from the stinging GC loss and pitiful performance.  I think they're itching to beat up on the first team they come across.

Truth spoken on the pressure.  OL needs to be better.  Scheme needs to be better.  Buck definitely needs to be better.  More max-pro please.  Our guys can do it.  So do it.  We can't have Zach take as many hits as he did last year.

I would immediately put Pigrome into special sets as the Strevie-like wildcard.  Save wear on Zach and mix things up.  HAM will not be expecting that.

I agree we can compliment our offence with Pigrome....Buck is anxious to see just how much more he has to offer, using him as a weapon on 3rd and short.    I think he throws the ball better than Strev and has amazing speed.   He's not afraid to take a blow as he puts it and neither was Strev....could be fun watching him this year!

Holy cow.  I really can't explain this.  Our run D was impenetrable under Nevis.  Nearly as good under Stove, but starting to slide.  Pretty bad with Sayles (worst in 5 years).  I'm going by memory and gut impression and what TSN's impression was over all those years (they never mention our run-stop-D anymore, when it used to be talking point #1 in 2018-2019).

How can this jive with the IMP "beast" DT stats above??  Makes no sense.

I don't think you can blame Fatboi either, as my impression is he's gotten slightly better in recent years, not worse.  For instance, he worked out well as a (near) every-down DT when everyone predicted he couldn't do it.

Is it our DE's are getting worse at contain and block shedding?  Are the 2 J's losing a step (Willie certainly did last season, but not by a large margin).

Or is it our WILL injury problems?  Or the loss of Kongbo/Hansen and cheetah?

Help me make it make sense!

Nailed it.  The worst part of the roster is the only possible FAKENAT thing we can do is put Grant in to spell Woli or Demski.  We've totally ignored (as KW said) the potential FAKENAT advantages.  Oh well.  Curious to see what other teams do...

Say Zach goes down in the 4th in a close game (knock wood; sorry for mentioning it; salt over my shoulder; garlic on my neck; etc.)... do we really put Brown in?  I think we would.  But if Brown goes 2 & out... I'm really thinking hard about putting in Piggyt!  Kind of like when Strev came to town everyone instantly forgot about whoever our #2/#3 were that season or before.  Piggyt may suffer the same pick-on-the-rookie fate if he's an announced starter for a game, but as an in-game surprise replacement no D would be ready for him.  Kind of like us with Kelly in the GC (sigh).

Likes like a MOS roster.

If it was me, I would have sat one of the 9 LBs and put another guy in along the DL. But that's the ST need, I guess.

Fans might call for the #3 QB after 1 set of downs, but I hope to hell my team gives the #2 alot more chance to show he can do it.
