My gut feeling is our D will be on the field a lot and we shouldn't underestimate BLM as he has something to prove.    Our D has taken a step backwards from last year and we need Lawler to outperform other teams defences.....he's now unavailable for 3-4 games or more?    BO hasn't had any reps and JA didn't seem ready either....
I think the Cats because the Cup is in their backyard again are really gearing up for a fast start this year and we have more or less stayed with the status quo...which imho is a dangerous tendency.    I don't see any new blood on D to help out our front 7 who are getting old and more prone to injury.
I hope i'm dead wrong and we throttle them.....just going with my gut whilst many of you more knowledgeable posters analyze the situation

I agree 100%.  Bo is still better then most QBs but for some reason Calgary wanted Maier.  I think it was the money angle that Bo got.  Calgary does not like to spend big dollars ob QBs.  This will be a good test for the Bombers.  We are not getting any younger and this may be the last kick at the cat for us winning another cup for awhile.  Hope I'm wrong but that is the way I see it.

Why are many under estimating our offence? Our Arline should be able to handle the vaunted TiCats DL. I do not see a reason we should not win the clock battle.

I'm not too concerned for that, but I am concerned that our defence won't be able to get their offence off the field, meaning our offence won't be on the field enough. Hopefully I am wrong, but looking at our front 7 and our injuries I have at least  as of today, big concerns our defence won't be able to stop long time consuming drives against us.

Doesn't anybody care that Zac was under all kinds of pressure last year?  And this year?
My fear is it's gonnna be 2 and outs and a dead Zac.  Plus  Ti-Cats run for 5 yds a carry, and Bo Dinks and Dunks.  Wpg fans al leave the stadium to start the fourth.

Somehow if Zac runs away from pressure and buys time, it could be a shoot-out.  I don't think we stop the run at all.
All based on Two exhibition games, and such awful execution.  Where's the beer line that Wade says will make things better?

And I am only talking about this week. I think.  Once we get the injured back, I can only assume we will be playing well.

LOL!

And what did you see?
We saw a lot of guys that are not on our active roster play pretty poorly for stretches.
The few that played really well are on our active or practice roster.

Zero games played.

Ya, chill.  The PS games meant nothing.  Pick any random play and we had at most 1 or 2 starters (sometimes 0) on the field!!  Seriously, I was scanning the personnel on the field with binocs all game to count the starters and it was usually 1 guy.  Later on it was zero guys.

We were just testing the B-teams, TC fodder guys, and rookie DPs.  The other teams were playing quite a few starters and DI guys quite a lot.

Our receiving corps is second to none.  Even without Lawler we should be the best in CFL.  Our QB can make plays.  The OL should be as good as last year, which is CFL top-3 for sure.

And in the other corner we have half-washed-up BLM and White, and a maybe-good-but-unproven OL.  That's it, that's all.

Don't forget that Zach and the O crew should still have a massive chip on their shoulder from the stinging GC loss and pitiful performance.  I think they're itching to beat up on the first team they come across.

Truth spoken on the pressure.  OL needs to be better.  Scheme needs to be better.  Buck definitely needs to be better.  More max-pro please.  Our guys can do it.  So do it.  We can't have Zach take as many hits as he did last year.

I would immediately put Pigrome into special sets as the Strevie-like wildcard.  Save wear on Zach and mix things up.  HAM will not be expecting that.

I am wondering if Rose made to the field today.

If Lawson is injured, should we add Cole Adamson 6'5" 300lb. to the PR as a backup DL. Or is he also returning to school.

Not according to today's injury report. Same as yesterday. No doubt he's headed to IR but whether it's 1 game or 6 game is a question. In theory players could have already been added to 6 game IR earlier but that didn't happen for him. So maybe just a couple of weeks?

Adamson could be added to the PR depending on how serious the injury to Lawson turns out to be. Didn't see him get injured last week.

Isn't Adamson the one that got switched to the O-line?  I know Kornelson is heading back to the U of M.

The Bombers did try to switch him to OL.

Who's he going to throw to??  The only guy I see on AR that is worth beans is White.  They might have the worst receiving corps in the whole CFL.

Their OL acquisitions are looking good, though.  Getting pressure will be a miracle.  But again, even if BLM has all day, he can't chuck it to nobody.  Let's rush 3 all night and do a mixed man/zone and blanket the coverage.  Put a double-team on White.

Never know with new receivers, Dalton Schoen was a complete unknown this time last year.  They also signed Duke Williams, don't know what kind of season he's going to have, but he was productive once upon a time.  I'm hoping he's a bust.
