Harris is looking for targets.. maybe Ellingson gets a deal in Green and White...

If I were Harris, though, I'd be encouraging them to sign the likes of Couture first... can't hit a WR from your back.

If O'Day plans to drop over $900K on a new QB and two receivers, he might have trouble trying to upgrade the O-line. I can't imagine Couture is going to come cheap.

Too bad, their fanbase seemed to be regenerating interest in the Als the last few years.  Hopefully the ownership issues get resolved in a positive manner and they keep the team on track.
I still remain surprised no local business man (French speaking) has stepped and purchased the the team. For all the money in Montreal and as popular a sport as it is in the city!

Probably not but Montreal ha sprobably lost Harris and now Wieneke. Lewis reportedly is being sought by the Lions and he wants out of Montreal. Things are not looking good in Montreal.

Bailey or Wieneke, I am taking Bailey all day long.

I dunno.

TD Jake scored a lot of TDs until last year.  Bailey had 9 TDs last year, so they are comparable red zone players.

Weineke has had the higher ceiling in terms of receiving yards per season, but Bailey had consistently trended up.

Bailey has a lower average yards per catch, but a higher proportion of YAC yards. Weineke has better results on deep routes.

Weineke has more length, Bailey is a tenacious blocker.

Pretty close comparison, I think the tie-breaker was probably that Trevor Harris asked for Weineke.

Jake drop off last year with only 2 TDs. I find RB88 more versatile. I give RB88 the edge for his blocking, YAC, and his 8.3 yard rushing avg.

I thought there were buyers, but that the estate wasn't really interested in selling.  Might just be what the offer price was, but if the estate can get away from the debt/losses that are coming, they should be happy to sell...

I always thought of Wieneke as a slow receiver, he has good heigtht at 6'-4", good hands and runs good routes which is how he got so many TD's 2 years ago, still not a game breaker IMO.

I think Bailey fits into this offense better, too.

I'm kind of curious to how BC will look....
I know I'm not the only one that believes Rourke was only as good as he was because of his contract. When Reilly retired the Lions had the money to build an OL and get WR's.
Vernon Adams Jr has potential to make almost $300,000 more than Rourke which is basically the cost of 2 key starting OL. Bryan Burnham retiring helps them keep their WR's intact for 1 more year but RB Butler will probably demand a a hefty raise after having a breakout year.

SSK need an OL...so they will probably overpay for whatever they can get....and probably sacrifice retaining key offensive and defensive players in doing so. If they can keep Morrow and Hickson in their backfield it might be worth the sacrifice. Trevor Harris needs a balanced offence in this stage of his career. Problem is I'm not sure who actually wants to play in the dumpster fire capital of the CFL.

Edmonton Elkimos....Is Chris Jones capable of turning things around in year 2 or will his ego remain to be in the way.

Calgary.....I'm calling it already Winnipeg's toughest opponent in the West.

Toronto, how will the toilet bowl of the league look after stealing a Grey Cup. Is MBT going to be the #1 QB still? or do they gamble with Kelly? Do they re-sign all the key players that contibuted in their Grey Cup Heist? Do Henoc Muamba and Andrew Harris return? Does Harris still think he needs to prove anything to anyone at all?

Hamilton, where does Dane Evans end up? he's not a terrrible QB but with Fajardo and possibly MBT being availble, who's going to Montreal out of those 3. Can't tell me Hamilton actually keeps Evans behind Mitchell. Is Mitchell capable of being the QB he once was pre 2019?  I kinda wanna see the Bombers play Hamilton in the Grey Cup yet again.

Ottawa....terribly mismanaged might be the 2nd or 3rd worst management in the CFL, yet they've managed to re-sign a lot of potential free agents. One has to wonder if Khari Jones and Barron Miles are only there for if Dyce screws up. I felt like the Redblacks were a lot better than their 4-14 record showed. They had a lot of promise with Masoli at QB , resigning Arbuckle is an interesting move must be for an insurance policy....Mayne Lapolice only needed a better supporting cast of coaches.

Montreal...IMO I think  Maas is a mediocre HC and going to be a  downgrade from Maciocia/Jones. We will have to wait and see who the QB in Montreal will be as Montreal has an amazing OL/run game...Kinda feel like Cody Fajita might be best suited for Montreal. They need to re-sign a tonne of players still and with Harris leaving theres potential some players might follow him.

Then he's making the 2019 BC and 2022 SSK mistake... not spending the money on the OL they need to allow good QBs to be effective.

Remember what that D guy said: hit T.Harris once and he'll be messed up for the rest of the game.  SSK is gonna be reeeeaaal fun for him!  <Cody winks>

They might win that spot by default.  Who else could it be?

Dane would be perfect behind BLM.  Bo is going to stumble, I'd wager.  And Dane's headcase brain doesn't let him be #1.  But he is good at being #2 and coming in as relief, even if it's for multiple games.  And BLM can teach up Dane.

If someone signs Evans as their for-sure #1, he will struggle again.  And he's a long ball guy who needs a league top-3 OL.  No city that might sign him will have that: other than HAM.

Yes, OTT wasn't as bad as they seemed in '22, and if Masoli has a full year they should do much better.

Jake or Bailey would be amazing but agree with what others have said about Bailey fitting in well, blocking, YAC, rushing etc.  Likely comes down to $.
