The guy at this point must realize the dream to be on a roster is fading. He is playing good but he will be down on any teams depth chart. If He does not mind never playing ball buried on a PR and collecting a cheque than so be it.
He had the opportunity in Phoenix but failed. He will not get another opportunity like that again I think.

I just do not think he makes an active roster. He seems to of improved throwing the ball! Just watching his last game now.

He got his INT reversed due to a marginal PI call.

He is playing against the Giants 3s and 4s though.

He sure shines a nice light on the Winnipeg Football Club and our winning ways.

As long as he can make a PR, he has a chance at some point to get on the roster. QB's fall in the NFL like flies.

NFL PR is 17 so that takes roster to 80. Each team probably has a few players going to IR so that's not a lot of actual players that will be totally free. Might be some that are released get picked up by other teams either on either their AR or IR rosters.

I guess I needed my morning coffee. At best my math was off even using the 53 + 17 should have been 70 which I was thinking but not typing. You are correct that PR is only 16 so teams have to reduce about 11 over and above those headed to PR. Many of the extra players will end up on the PUP/IR list as well.

Pensions are not that much.  Starting at 55, they average about $43k.  Average.  Which means 1/2 of them are lower than that.  I beleive the minimum s around $20k.

It is based on the number of seasons played.

A "season" means that you were on the roster for 3 games.  Roster.  Regular or postseason roster.  Not preseason, not practice.  So you have to dress for 3 games to get credited with a season.

Yes, a pension is a nice thing to get as a bonus.  "Free" money, for sure.  But its far from life changing, and hard to earn.
