Does anyone know if Namaan Roosevelt is still in the Bombers' plans for this season ?
It appears he was on our practice roster last season, but was later released.
He had some productive seasons in Saskatchewan, including 2018 and 2019, when Collaros played there.

Not in the plans, I believe he was cut or retired before seasons end.

Add to this, during this time:

WR/KR Charles Nelson

& to the NFL:
OL Drew Desjarlais
DL Jonathan Kongbo
DB DeAundre Alford

& moving on:
QB Sean McGuire

A couple comments:

On Dec 30th we had 62 players listed on the Bomber roster, today 49. So, I assuming there is plenty of room for additions, be it free agents, recruits or this years draft choices.

Kyle Walters has done very well in keeping the core free agent group together (22 by my count) and deserves a "good job" comment... but, the word out in the street is there is no spending money available now....

Now, in typical fashion, Kyle Walters along with the Calgary GM say they have no spending money. Mr. Huff appears is finding cash in his sock drawer over past couple days, Kyle on the other hand apparently must be putting together a fund me drive.

There are capable replacements on the current roster for the players that we have lost over the past few weeks/days, but again it still is cause for concern when you see the likes of Hamilton, Calgary & Sask dipping into the free agent pool. I keep telling myself, the scouting department will find players for the areas that need upgrading or replacing.

Patience I guess, but again, if you dip into the free agent pool, its kind of proven known player....

Through 30 games, Glass has recorded 95 defensive tackles, six special teams tackles, one sack and three interceptions.

Bombers lost a lot of great players..  how can we have no money left to sign a decent backup QB and veteran kicker? Even offer AH a bit more money to entice him to stay?

Collaros is making $150k more than last year.  Ellingson probably costs $50k more than we paid Lawler last year.  Oliveira probably gets at least $30k more than his old contract.  The entire offensive line, Bailey, Wolitarsky get small raises.  So, you have to find at least $250k in savings, which is basically Harris and Adams.

On the defensive side, we gave raises to Bighill, both DEs, Rose.  Thomas,  Marston and Taylor probably come back for same money or close.  But Stove was on a cheap deal, so losing him doesn't save us any money.  We might save some on switching Darby for Glass, but not a ton.

We lost some good players, but we retained a ton of very good players.

This is what seems lost on many fans, unfortunately. The roster is still in pretty good shape, even if management has some work left to do. Bottom line: the trenches were kept intact, which is where the majority of games are won and lost.

The defense is going to be dominant again, IMO. I also see a balanced offense in the cards again.

I like the fact that BA37 signed for 2 years.
Don't go through life looking in the rearview mirror.

With Alexander, by my count that makes 11 allstars going into next season including 1 outstanding player, 1 outstanding defensive player and 1 outstanding lineman (not to mention top coach) not too shabby. Is there another team that comes close?

Same, especially if he winds up missing half this year. Nice to have him locked in for the next one

On paper we still look good....now we'll see if there's enough left in the Bomber Team tank for another run at a Cup.    There's no reason not to believe we are still contenders but it's a long season and we are vulnerable should Zach Collaros get injured, god forbid!  I pray for Strevvy to return but alas, it's only a pipe dream!
Bomber fan for life

You?re right, Collaros goes down and we re done, which is not a good place to be as everyone gets injured sometime, he was one of the very few that didn?t get hurt last year, but still, pickup a watford or Shiltz and we could all sleep a little better

Blue72

Why is Walters being so stubborn about bringing in another vet receiver. All the high priced guys are picked up already so guys like Collins and Huff would be great pickups incase we loose a vet during TC or the start of the season. We only have two IMP starting receivers which is not good plus no one to replace Adams yet. Please don't say McKnight because he is to small for blocking to replace Adams blocking and size. We "might" find a receiver during TC but by the time he gets used to the CFL game we are 3-4 games in.
I know we also need a backup QB and a kicker, just hope MOS doesn't wait to long with the kickers he had last year.
