Question if Niku could get into the flow of the game, nad yes, he got his flow into the game...

Habs were worried that we were trying to hurt their tanking efforts by resting everyone...

Conner gets his contract bonus for 30, does he have one for OT winners?
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

Mason is playing solid so far. He looks calm and comfortable, which is remarkable considering how much time he's missed.
He fought the puck on some shots last night , leading to a greasy goal by the Habs. It's understandable, he's been out for a while. BIG drop off though between Helly and Comrie and Mason.

On 1290 this morning they mentioned Niku scores on his first NHL shot, just like Teppo Numminen did in 1986, but it looks like Numminen's rookie year was 1988. He had 1 goal in 69 games. Did he score on his first shot in '88 and not get another one all year? Apparently it was Joe Pascucci that dug that up. Something lost in translation here.

Preds have the tiebreaker, right?

yah - we would have to win out and the preds lose out...highly unlikely that they will lose the next two...unless they are thinking they would rather play the Wild - but I don't think that comes into play at all.

it's nice to be close and just think there were a couple of stinkers that got away on the Jets over the season and had we won those could be in a spot for first in Division and Conference..

Could you imagine though, winning out, taking the President's Trophy and going into the playoffs on a 5 game winning streak while Nashville closes out their year losing a bunch at the end?

I think The Forks makes the most sense. If we ever made it to the SC Finals, though, I don't think anyone would be upset if we closed down P&M outright!

Another suggestion I have that's a little rogue- what about showing on a big screen at Shaw Park? People can be allowed on the field, or can choose to sit in the stands. Concessions there are great, too. Actually, if the Goldeyes took up that initiative in addition to a Forks party, that could be a huge revenue generator if they sold tickets for a few bucks a pop.

Numminen did score his only goal of the 1988-89 season in game #1.

Niku looked good. I'm betting he's a Jet all year next year. That will be quite the Finnish Force we'd be sending to Finland for our games next year from Finnipeg, eh?

Yeah it wasn't 86 it was 88, and yes he scored on his first shot and did not get another goal all year.
