I will say BLM really gives his all to those licks.  Like many fingers, and tongue way out and multiple passes.  And the look he cracks when doing it...

And I also pity the clean up crew on the hockey benches as well

Just checked you are correct. They show kolankowski backing up Dobson.

Horseman

The last TD by BC was out of bounds when he had control of the ball. His feet were in bounds when he first touched the ball with his hands by the time he had full control his left foot was on the white sideline, no TD but command centre gave it to them just because the score was what it was. Change my mind.

That seems to be the case for the last few years, as long as the receiver holds onto the ball they tend to give it to them. Nield had a reception like that in game #1.

Is buck tough enough to turf benevides?

Not just Buck's call.  With the coach cap everyone is hamstrung.  The better question is when is Bene's contract up.  If it's after this season, they'll just wait it out.

But more importantly: are these problems the fault of Bene?  He's been there a couple of years now.  BC D was good enough to make it to a hair's breadth of the GC last year.  There were games their D was stout, and they made a good flyer as the D pick in fantasy.

Bene may be in the same boat Younger is at the moment.  Is it the DC or is it the players... or... what?  There might be no easy answers.

Probably a bit of both.

Benevides defence resembles ours in being prone to late game collapse giving up game winning drive. And in the secondary not being coordinated, and also jus not good enough.

Maybe also it's the use of the prevent defence.

Offence scratches out a lead, defence caves.

Similar situation to Wpg. Buck restored Bene back to DC when he took over and demoted Ryan Phillips back to secondary coach, they also have former Ti-Cat DC Mark Washington on staff working as linebacker coach, so no lack of input trying to solve this problem.

It's a tough one.  The first couple of angles look like his right hand grabs it and maintains a constant point of contact with the ball.  That's usually good enough for a TD if he maintains it all the way down (since he's falling/diving).

But the behind angle shows there's a moment the ball is "falling" in relation to his right hand as he hauls it into his chest.  And thus it ends up in a slightly different part of his hand as he hits the turf.

The "Bailey Rule" where they stole Bailey's first CFL catch in the 2019 GC, means this should NOT be a TD.  Bailey had less movement of his hands on the ball as he fell than here -- though he had one hand backwards.

I see why the refs gave it to him.  But command should be ashamed of themselves.  I think they gave it to him to help with the entertainment value, as BC was getting badly torched.  Either that or command is incompetent and forgot that the fact he's falling means what happens as he goes down & hits the turf matters as much as what happens while he's inbounds.  If he had been running fully upright and stayed upright out the side/back and done this, it would have been a TD -- because he DOES have possession for like a second before that "ball falling" moment.

Past precedent in the CFL, including that big one in the '19 GC, means command should rule this a non-TD.
