His free arm or the ball arm?  RBs in motion can basically smash with whatever upper extremity they want whenever they want.

On SSK final drive T.Harris "spikes" the ball to stop the clock.  Something we almost never see in the CFL.  I can really only ever recall it once before in the last 5 years, when a noob IMP QB thought that's how we do it up here.

By CFL rules, isn't this intentional grounding (IG)?  It does not pass the LoS.  And there is no eligible REC/RB in the direction he's "throwing".  I'm not sure there's a "spike" exception/mention in the rule book?

I wonder what would happen if a DL rushed in to grab that ball on the turf... and the HC challenged that it should be a fumble?  Ya, arm went forward, but he didn't release until it was aiming down, like a blown "tuck"?  (Ya, no tuck rule in CFL, just to complicate things.)

One of my pet peeves is spikes.  I don't want our last 3 mins to be a spike-fest with the new rules.  But I don't even want to see it under our current rules!

P.S. SSK pretty bad at the 2min drill (47sec in this case) -- even if it did get them the TD.

Fajardo barely has the arm to make those deep throws, he has to put everything he has to get the ball far down field and doesn't have much zip on it, so risks being picked off.
