Yes, I would have take, ZC8, BO20, and ND10 out of the game. Give Wilson, Corcoran, and Patterson some playing time.
Don't go through life looking in the rearview mirror.

I agree and we did get to Bo yesterday and it was enough.

I still prefer a more aggressive approach to defense as I think the chaos is usually worth it but can see the wisdom with how it looked yesterday. The caveat there is we can't be devoid of pressure. We got a few shots on Bo. There were still some pressure (one real sack). That's what you need. It can't just be a five seconds in the pocket for the QB every play without contact for 60 minutes and it has veered into that territory at times this year also.

Re the low pressure D line defense yesterday:
1. One game is a small sample size, I doubt it will be this effective going forward, but one can hope
2. Our corners are better than at the beginning of the year, possibly our safety also.
3. Woods yesterday was able to press the middle of the pocket more than JT95 when he was in.
4. Bo was less accurate than he usually is, and failed to hit some open receivers.
5. Hamilton has a pretty good O-line
6. Bo is not a running QB, gave us more freedom to rush out of prescribed lanes, and worry less about contain

I noticed that BLM seemed to get flustered a lot by the bull-rushing DT (often Fatboi) when he'd get push to be beside him.  Even though BLM was probably still safe (a bull rush without a block-shed can't touch the QB), he would often panic and throw early.  I think this is why a lot of his deeper balls were overthrown (REC wasn't to the desired depth yet).

Interesting...
Never go full Johnston!

I have to agree.  Wilson and a few others could have used what MOS has said he needs reps to be used as the backup instead of Strevy.  Well, here was your chance to get him those valuable reps, but you chose not to.  What a wasted opportunity.  They also chanced ZC8 getting injured for no reason at all, and should have rested him and a few others (like one poster mentioned) and not risk it. Just unnecessary to have them out there. What if?  Glad nothing happened for sure.

Throw Long Bannatyne

We got to witness Zach is his happiest unbridled state yesterday, if he has his druthers he'd throw bombs down the field on every second down, allowing him a 15 yd passing average. Worked well against the Ti-Cats but shouldn't push his luck against the Riders or Als, secondaries dial in on that tendency as do pass rushers.  Hope they take it as a one time celebration and don't pretend they've found the key to unlocking the offence.

Big factor in this win was establishing the running game plus 0 sacks given up along with 0 turnovers, those should be the key markers they try to duplicate against stronger defences.

This has been a recurring theme for years now.  Just seems to not be in oshea's dna unless there is an injury.

3 completions, 8 point win over the worst in the East.  2 phases working

20 completions, 37 point win over the best in the East.   3 phases totally in sync
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

Blue In BC

A lot of things came together today. Some significant roster additions and alignment changes. Play calling looked like it was done by a different team.

Collaros and Sterns back. Wilson new alignment. Woods added on defence were all significant.

I don't think anybody thought it was going to be a 40 -3 win though.

Obviously a few things in the game of inches went our way like Lawler over throw, under throw and DB's playing to the end of the play. Those are things that don't always happen.

If I have to pick one thing IMO the Vaval return TD on the opening play set the tone for the win. It's almost silly to say that after 12 seconds into the game, but that was a giant kick in the face to the TiCats.

One game at a time.

Ya, but didn't Strev get all but 1 of the TDs for those 37 points??  As well as being a massive force on the O in special sets.  I wouldn't use the HAM game as an example to bash Strev!!

I could be wrong, but the depth-of-pass seemed to be a nice mix.  He had some long bombs, but a fair amount of mid-range, and even some short game (that for the first time this season wasn't stinky and INTy).

Goes to show we are best when everything is balanced (which includes the run).

He's not bashing Strev for his performance yesterday. He's pointing out that when you have a genuine #1 QB at the helm, it makes a huge difference to your offense. None of our other 2 QBs could have done what Zach did, not even close. I would argue Wilson probably could have done much of what Strev did. I love what Strev brings, but he's not a #1 QB.

gobombersgo

Looks like Strevy didn't have his knee brace on yesterday.
