Montreal - Against a 3rd stringer, so we should win
LDC - Loss
Banjo - Win
@ Ham - Loss
@ Ott - Win (especially if Brown still has a knee injury).
Ham - Win (Princess Auto is a tough place to play and Ham might already be a lock for first)
@EDM - Win
SSK - Loss
MON - Win or loss (too early)

so 10-8 or 11-7. More likely 10-8. We probably will play Calgary in the first round. Playoffs are weird so who knows?

A couple of injuries and a team can fall quickly.

Based on the current state of teams, here's where I suspect the season plays out, ignoring Cgy Sask Ham and Mon because we're not going to have better records than the first 3 and someone has to finish second in the East.

BC has a fairly easy schedule going out.  Likely 6 wins to put them 3rd challenging for 2nd.

Edmonton has a pretty tough go.  There's 3 wins likely for them.  That's likely not enough to catch Winnipeg for 4th unless we completely fall apart.

Toronto has a rough schedule- 1 to 2 wins which means 4th and that assumes they don't completely pack up shop for next year.

Ottawa has a pretty rough schedule on the way out and likely have 3 wins in that set.

All of those teams play each other 8 times for the balance of the season.

So Bombers best hopes are likely crossover and they probably need at least 3 wins for that.

Can we beat Montreal in Montreal for ESF with DA?  Likely not.  Can we beat then with Caleb Evans?  Maybe.

Can we beat Hamilton in the EF with Bo and Lawler?  I doubt it.

We can beat Montreal with DA at Qb, and Evans, we can beat them handily. I can't believe Evans is even in the league.

Re-evaluation currently underway, Evans looked pretty good subbing for MBT last week against the Elks, he certainly has the physical talent and seems to have progressed on the mental aspects of the game.  If he can start and win games in the next few weeks he immediately jumps into the frustrated backup QB pool along with Tyler Powell and may become a candidate for a starting job somewhere else next season.

Evans is a decent backup.  He is in the league because he is good enough to be a 2 or 3.

Quote from: Sir Blue and Gold on August 15, 2025, 01:38:26 PMWe wouldn't be the first team to have an up and down season win a Grey Cup. And if you look at the last few years, finishing first didn't ultimately end is total success.

Finishing first is a massive statistical boon to getting to the cup.  Finishing 3rd is a tough statistical road.

The goal is still to finish first.

I don't care if we win the cup as much as I care about getting there.  Especially this year.  Just get there.  Once you're there, it's any given Sunday (hence why we lost to Arbuckle).  The home crowd and -30C weather should allow us to overcome anyone.
