Every last rookie IMP comes up here thinking this is their ticket to the NFL. Zero rookies come up here thinking they want a career in the CFL as their final goal. It's only after they've been here a while that they see how you can do well being a CFL lifer.

Now, can you tweak it and optimize it and make it "more fair"? Sure. I'd like to see the teams that release the player to the NFL window get rights in perpetuity should the player return; as in the original team gets right of first refusal regardless of how many years they were down south. Right now it's only for the length of the contract.

That's probably the narrative the scouts continue to push down South because it's the easiest, but you'd think wanting to continue their football career and economic necessity would spur enough of them to sign on regardless. The majority of college players go un-drafted, their chances of making the NFL are infinitesimal and there are likely tens of thousands of ex players still hoping to get back into the game any way they can. The CFL needs to shed their inferiority complex and stand confident they are offering these players a decent opportunity to make a living playing football.

Except every 22yo player who is good enough to get a look in the CFL thinks (knows!) for sure that THEY are the best player ever and good enough for the NFL. It's just that the NFL is "wrong" and they will "show them". That is their mindset. No young player with pro-level talent and pro aspirations starts their career thinking "I'm not good enough".

The only way that wouldn't hold is if the player is great but has the wrong body type (i.e. Waterbug RECs, or short QBs). AND that someone has informed them about this immutable limitation. (Ironically enough they often make the best CFL lifers!)

As for inferior: we are inferior in the mind of any IMP: We can offer good players $150k in most positions. NFL, well...

Bonus for the rest of the W teams though. Orimalade Was having his best season ever and was basically creaming O's all by himself.

Haha, they thought MBT was hot garbage that could do nothing but lose. Then they saw what the even worst QBs could do. LOL. At least with MBT you had a shot. Back to crazy eyes! Gotta love his fire.

P.S. If they make the playoffs, and Alexander is 100%, they will be near impossible to beat.

I think if given more time will be at least a good backup. Didn't see this coming but I share the view. Nice to players continue their league. Dream is still alive for this young man. Hope he gets an AR spot as can't survive on PR money in BC!

Bit of a bummer because I think we may have called him up again had we gotten into dire straits, and we may have even given him another shot next TC.

Now, the question of why on earth HAM would want him? They are stacked at REC, with absolute insane levels of talent. Probably league-best. It's like they don't need him to actually play...
