Brains are a funny thing.  Near the end of the 1st Rankin takes a whack, spins in the air, then hits FM down on the turf.  I think he got concussed.  Which is funny, because the spin on its own won't concuss you (usually), and that faceplant usually won't (it wasn't that hard), but the 2 together seem to have done it.  Rotational forces on the brain can lead to concussions, but usually with a quick stop or start.  The rotation had totally stopped (relatively slowly) by the time there was any whack, but the brain was probably still wobbling.  Then the turf whack to have 2 directional forces at the same time.

From his reaction it would appear he's not at all used to that feeling.  Many RBs just shake it off (even if they shouldn't).  Rankin finding out he's mortal.

P.S. That was that Labrosse kid that destroyed us when we faced them, eH?  FS?  Very promising player.  Hits like Loffler, has a range & nose like Dequoy.

2Q3:31 You don't often see a fine for a HC tackle, but this one is gonna get it.  That was a nasty, nasty uncalled for HC with a huge head whack to the turf at the end.

At least most HC committers try to let go when the dude is clearly falling down.  This CGY guy never let go resulting in the worst head hit I've seen from these in a while.

The funny thing is, I think OTT gets CGY next, home & home... there's the chance OTT needs to bust one.

The problem now is EDM will be uncatchable and any cup run will have to go through them at home.  Luckily even the recently enhanced EDM crowd can't produce even half the noise a good prairie team/stadium can.

They've been really lucky with injury so far.  I expect either Rankin or Cody to get blown up one of these games.  Cody runs way too much and too recklessly for a franchise QB, and gets whacks in SY (which is just stupid).

I realize now the problem with EDM isn't that you have to commit many D to Rankin: it's that you have to deal with Rankin AND Cody running.  Some of these games he's running more than Rankin.  It gives them a free 2nd down conversion waaaay too often.  And it makes all those short/mid passes way too open.  It's a tough new problem for any team trying beat them.  But it'll catch up with Cody one of these days.

I am, if they are healthy.  Need one of either Cody or Rankin to get hurt.  I'm not as scared of Powell(RB) or Leake.  Heck, even Rankin may be losing his mojo.  He's been very quiet the last few games as teams key on him (including us).

Why?  Because EDM believes.  They have the best morale in the league, and the most hunger, due to their recent crap past.  You can tell that they think they deserve to win everything, and are playing loose and with violence.  You can spot flashes of WPG 2021.

That's very dangerous.

I think it's a long shot the Bombers are going to be in any final, they struggle to beat Calgary.

We've shown we can beat 2 of the top 3 teams.  And one, MTL, is basically guaranteed a cup appearance.

We get one more shot to show we can beat the best W team (EDM).  If we can do that, and it's not garbage season, then no playoff team will be safe against us.  That would mean we've shown we can legit beat the teams we'll have to beat in the WDF and GC.  Not only beat them, but completely stymie them.

Meh.  He looks like a NAT, but has the wrong passport.  In fact, dude looks like he 100% lives in and belongs in SSK.  Reminds me of Getzlaf in appearance.

He's overrated, IMHO.  He's like Nield, but wastes an IMP spot.  If EDM was fully healthy he wouldn't even be dressed.  And he's reached his ceiling, whereas a guy like Singer, who knows what the ceiling is.

You may be right, Younger's defence is finally emerging as a unit that can shut down top teams and limit points scored against.  Unfortunately the offence can't be counted on to be productive beyond Sergio. With diminished ability Zach won't commit to a dink and dunk offence and probably hates it passionately, Brown and Condell are likely on the same page as they take their leads from Zach.

They need a smart Matt Nichols clone to move the ball quickly and efficiently taking what is given and only gambling on longer shots when the right conditions are present. The pass to Demski up the seam yesterday was an excellent example.

It'll be an interesting final third for the west. 2nd through 5th could be a dead heat. Have to hope Ottawa decides they need to beat Calgary back to back (they won't unless VA is on a hard bad run), and that Bad Chad shows up for us in 2 weeks so we're not in 5th by the time we meet the Stamps again.  Montreal and Edmonton could have nothing to play for by the time we meet them so that could favour us (Montreal should have 1st locked up when they beat Hamilton).
