Yes, the O-line needs work, but man, we miss Lawler.

We have Demski & White, who are both good second options.

Wilson is either another 2nd options or a 3rd option.

Nield is a good 4th and Cobb is a 5th.

When we need a 1st down, there is no big play receiver to air it out to. It's hard to go long when we have no one you can win a jump ball.

Collaros aired out the ball 3 times(?) last game and none of the receivers came up with the ball. All of those killed driver.

You know, that's a good point.  Hamilton can throw the ball ANYWHERE and Lawler comes up with it most times. It doesn't have to be a picture perfect throw, he just goes and grabs it with his athleticism and ability. I miss having that in a receiver. Worth the money.

.
Those deep balls sucked
Jerry Rice wouldn't have got those
Zach has rust and his med to deep ball will get a little better
Yes Lawler is missed dearly but is also expensive

THe one to Pokey was dead on..and wasn't caught. Not the Qbs fault when a receiver cannot catch that.

That one was a Zach touch ball special yes 100%.  Just a mistake by Pokey, you flush that.

I think you remember the miracle ones and it skews the overall picture. He's been over 1,000 yards just twice in 7 years. This year's projection is 774 yards if he plays all 18. Gimme Philpot this year. not even close.

Tim White will be over 1,000 five years straight, touch wood. I'd rather have that consistent production.

I think Zach was watching the CFL on his bye, saw Alexander throw 60y while running and hopping, and said "I can do that!"

Problem is...
Never go full Johnston!

Lawler has many bad, and a few good, games. But even in his bad games, he buys you something: He draws double coverage and gets others one on ones.

That's extremely valuable. Maybe as valuable as that WDF where he gets you 3 TDS.

Have you done an updated max pass radius with him? Last year was 45.  Maybe in a couple games we can do a deep dive.

No he wasn't watching last week's games, he was watching Kerwin sling deep lol

We'll catch the ball before it hits you in the face for Pete's sake. It's not like he had to lay out for it or was super covered, it was a blown coverage, he was wide open in the end zone, AND HE DROPPED IT!!!

Don't think geno lewis would have dropped that one, nor would he go no catches in 5 targets, face it, we need a bonafide #1 receiver and we re too proud or stubborn to bring him in. That's frustrating.

Ya, a few weeks ago I measured a couple and they were his normal range. Same as last year.

However, he clearly can't heave a dart wrist throw like Alexander!

Can't disagree, don't want Geno but a bigger, younger, more aggressive #1 receiver is needed. Plenty of great new receivers making their debut in the CFL this season, so recruits are not hard to find, but best chance of a sure thing is to pay for a #1 receiver in FA.  At this point I would welcome Dominique Rhymes as a booster shot just to get through this season.

dd

Dom rhymes would be great, but we won't, we have Mikey's guys and we ll die with them, he's too proud and stubborn to upgrade an obvious need when there are tons of options out there.
