What did we do in the off season?

Our defense is terrible especially the secondary like I said earlier in posts. We can't tackle we give up big explosion plays, and too many turnovers We signed Moxey , Ceresna and Nield, as free agents they have been average at best. Nichols can't tackle anymore, our Defensive coordinator has a deer in the headlights look. Evan Holm tries his best but he has no help IMO. Our head coach has judgement lapses, our best players have been Vaval and Oliveira. No deep threat whatsoever,IMO. Our D line has had spurts but not consistent.
Dru Brown threw 4 interceptions tonight  but he ran for his life. No excuse for him but Collaros would I

f done the same or worse lol .  We need too make changes to make our team better or we are going into a deep abyss of hell.

I'm not going to hindsight this one. I was very happy with our off season moves and in a lot of ways they're working the way we wanted them to, but obviously there are other issues.

Yes agreed. The O line   Ends to lose 200 pods collectively. Face it they can't pass block. Our QNs will all be out for the season, after they are in the field  for four games..

Please get rid of the def coord.  Plus the guys brought in can't play at this level. Pokey Wilson and Demski are the only. Receivers that can play at this level.
.
The defense seemed to think it was touch football. Their lack of effort tells me they want to go back to their homes and play flag football. The lack kf linebacker macho ness is ridiculous. Trying to tackle the runs up the middle by just reaching out is ridiculous.

I see why Dru brown was released. Now that was behind a crap o line. I am embarrassed at how fat they are.

And the future shedule? I don't see where the team can win again!. Then after this we have the. Cheveldayoff led Jets. It's so good living here.

MOS loves his vets no matter how old and slow they are. Also likes to hire within and it shows. Plus poor judgement on players to keep and let to many guys go to keeps his vets EG: Bryant, Wilson, Nichols and Moxey just to name a few.

And yet our weakest hoggie is Eli, who is also the lightest.  Big Stan ended up on his backside tonight, meaning he might need MORE fat, not less.  You need to be quick AND super fat to be a good hoggie.  Look at Yoshi lighting it up in SSK.  He's both.

Wallace is slow, but pretty sure losing 30lb would do nothing to fix that.  He's just slow.  If you want quicker OL, hire quicker OL.

But Nield was a hope & a prayer based on one play.  The hope is he'll rapidly progress now that he's year 3 or whatever.  But the reality is he's complete garbage.  I can't think of one thing he's good at, other than "he's big".  Clercius has made better plays than Nield in the past, and at half the price, and he's bigger.

We wanted to obtain our own KSB, but what we got was more a JFG, but at KSB prices.

Honestly, at this point I'd just cut Nield and start Corcoran.  At least the kid is fast and has far better hands, and seems to be willing to actually try and have some freakin' morale instead of looking dead out there.

Maybe Nield has some trade value and we can claw back some of the wasted Dru picks.  Offer me a 2RDP for Nield: bye bye Nield.

"We're going to conduct TC differently so they are better prepared"

There's no preparation.  It was daiquiris on the dock this week, clearly.  I wonder what flavor?  Did they include a little umbrella?

And, my word, almost everyone on the team looks so blah at home!  They perk up for away games.  But at home it's like they all hit the bong pre-game.  Remember who it is who is paying you, you guys!!  It's the STHs butts in the seats!  Shameful.

Neild wasn't signed on to be a focal part of our offence though. He's been a little disappointing based on the drops, but he's at best a 4th option anyway. At the end of the year, he'll be probably have career numbers and be exactly what we thought he was going to be.

The only one who is underperforming expectations is Moxey who was supposed to at least be a quality starter. Throw in Holm and Nichols looking like shells of themselves and you get a rough looking group despite Williams looking like a fantastic find.

The Zipp

Broxton was our best signing, then Ceresna

agree that Moxey is just terrible

off season wasn't a bust - you can't sign everyone.

o line depth is problem

Really, it's been scouting, drafting, and recruitment.

Haven't brought in nearly enough of our own impact players.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Walters and our scouting have been pretty mediocre over the last 3 years as we've fallen off the rails. When O'Shea was achieving his success we had by far the best talent in the league. I would say we are now definitely in the bottom 50%, and unfortunately that goes for the most important position, QB.

Waffler

Tim White was a solid signing.

Agree scouting doesn't bring the top talent anymore. We have probably third/fourth place talent. Second/third if we were in the East.

Your first two picks seem to be playing well.  You have to get the ball to Daniels more.

I don't know if I want to give the slowest guy more opportunities. He seems like a guy who should have been on the practice roster for a year.

Dru Brown looked like he did playing in Ottawa....throwing 2 pics back to back tells me it's either the play calling or it's execution...In any case those are game killers...the miss by usually reliable Castillo that was returned for a td didn't help either....There has to be changes in the secondary....Opposition moving at will and blown coverage especially the td where a stamp receiver was left all on his own, 20 yds downfield, and waltzed in for a td....That's not professional football..We have a lot of work to do and changes have to be made or this is going to be a very loooong  rest of the year
