Hope they get Ayers back, I think he had NFL tryouts but didn't sign anywhere, so should be back.

It's February and things are already going terribly for Dave.

Cole was very good on teams, he could be missed.

Yeah he was rounding out into a good player. I don't think it was a money issue. Roster size and ratio limitations pushed him down the depth against other LB's in theory. We have Jones, Wilson and Ayers headed for the AR. Having a 4th import LB on the AR is a possibility but it's a trade off against a DL, DB or receiver.

We've often added a global LB in addition but that's swinging door.

What a craptacular timeline.
Stewart Johnston is a villain.

A question about D. Houston. Does his charge make him restricted from crossing the border? Will his charge be decided prior to TC?

Regardless of the final legal aspect, this is a horrible situation for his wife.

He'd technically be inadmissible with a misdemeanor assault charge. A TRP could be an option but it's probably too early to tell one way or another.

We also signed Johnathon Jones from the Argos who at 230 lbs gives us more options. He also had more special teams tackles than Cole, and frankly is an upgrade

I don't disagree with that but it's still unfortunate we couldn't keep him as well. We don't know if we made him an offer or whether we had been considering Jon Jones at the same time.

JJ could be a good addition as depth at worst but we have some interesting rookies coming to TC. He does appear to be next best suited at MLB after Tony Jones. That removes the need to use Gauthier as next man up, if we can get him on the AR.

It might be the plan at the moment.
