He's not a potential free agent though. So a team would seek permission to speak with him early. That might cost a neg list or draft choice for that right as well.

I'd think talks could happen immediately after Grey Cup week. Teams like Calgary and Edmonton will need to decide which is their best option before they risk losing their QB's.

Part of the discussions have been that Harris and BLM have earned the right to return in 2025. I wouldn't totally agree or disagree.

If Harris succeeds and wins the Grey Cup he could retire. In any case is he the QB they want to continue with for the future. BLM was benched in Hamilton earlier and even though he finished reasonably well, he wasn't perceived as the starter.

So age, previous injuries and SMS questions don't guarantee either are in the plans.

If a trade is made for VAJ, then chips / decisions will start to fall elsewhere. Just my hunch he ends up in Hamilton if they can make a trade that works for them.

No, but the contract could be re-structured to have games played and performance clauses. He also has guaranteed money in 2026. The fact he needs to be traded might be because teams are recognizing QB's are getting too big a piece of the pie.

There have already been discussions about poster thinking Rourke should take a cut. Of course that's just us posters and maybe some media feeling a line too far has been crossed. If he was closer to $450K they could probably keep both QB's.

Both Alberta teams didn't make the playoffs for the first time in decades, guaranteed both will be interested in VA, and  he'll get a decent buck while he's at it. He got totally screwed over this season and likely cost him the MOP. An offer of $350k is ridiculous
