Pretty impressive considering the first few years were a right off and not just a team rebuild but a complete organizational rebuild.  Congrats coach!!

Blueforlife

Amazing run and well deserved

Stuck with the game plan

Some lean first few years and patience paid off

It's very impressive really when you think of the absolute mess of a ball club he walked into—Hats off coach OShea

It was so bad back then, lol.
My wife is amazing!

Sir Blue and Gold

Best decision the organization made in the last 20 years was making him head coach and sticking with him.

MOS and Hall go down as one of most successful and dominant in the modern day Bomber era

Many called for their heads but they never rolled lol

Congratulations to O'Shea. I was one of many calling for him to be fired after year 2. Happy to eat crow.

I remember saying to blue_or_die (who can't post because there is some error that has banned him?) at the time; "I believe that Kyle Walters will bring a Grey Cup to Winnipeg, I don't think O'Shea will be here for it".

Believed that MOS was the guy before the guy. But then we got Zach and it all came together.

Congrats MOS!  On that list with the greats.  A list that won't often get updated.

I know he doesn't care about those plaudits now, but one day he'll be proud of his legacy.  Keep it up and there will be a MOS statue at one of the remaining 2 gates...
Never go full Rider!

I too will happily eat crow. I thought that when Mark Trestman became available and O'Shea had limited success after two years the timing seemed perfect to make the move. I am so glad the Bombers didn't do that. O'Shea has created a culture on this team that will last well after he is gone. When was the last time you saw an O'Shea coached team take a penalty after the whistle. Thats good coaching.

The bolded part especially. It was tough at the beginning but The Canadian Mafia has done a magnificent job with this franchise, O'Shea being a pretty major factor.

I'm back, baby.

Yeah, KW's abilities in the office were apparent early on when we saw how good he was at finding Canadians, which was an area we struggled with for lord knows how long before that going back at least to the Taman days. MOS was a question mark and I had a hard time not seeing him as an Argo guy and anything more than a special teams trickster. I didn't think he would do bad necessarily but had no real reason to think he'd work out either, and we were very used to turning over HCs back in those dark days.

A moment in history we don't talk about as much as we should was July 2016, when we gave the keys to Nichols. We knew we had a solid roster but were still perpetual losers. We went on a tear and made the playoffs for the first time in 5 years (going back to Swaggerville). If that moment didn't happen and we went into Labour Day in the same shape, I don't think MOS would have made it to Christmas with the team. Now look!

Well the cupboard was totally empty when he arrived. The prior management and coaches had gutted the team, had few draft picks and mediocre Canadian talent. Bombers had become a laughing stock. NOWHERE TO GO BUT UP! The "mafia" had the right approach to build a consistent winner instead of short term gains like the Argos like to do often...Build a consistent solid winner ala Tom Landy and Kindly Cal Murphy.

Wingnuts like Reinbold, Mike Kelly and Joe Mack were amateurs pretending to be professionals! WAY OUT OF THEIR LEAGUE! Mack probably the worst of the misfits.

First GM/Coach to do it together...  nice
