Man....wish I could be there.    My wife told me to go alone to the 2019 Cup which I did, and we finally broke our 29 year drought.    She's quite sick now and I'm staying home to care for her....otherwise she'd kick me out of the house to go.    We have two dogs that need daily walking and she can't walk let alone with 2 dogs.   Have fun Bomber fans and I hope Tim Hortons field has a lot of Blue and Gold in the stands.    Montreal fans will show up big time though
Bomber fan for life

Last time I was there there was one nice hotel attached to the arena.  We stayed about seven blocks away, near a road. Leading atop the escarpment.  The drive from Toronto is about a half hour.  We stayed there another time next to the airport.  Niagara Falls is another option, Niagara on the Lake, St. Catherine?s

Of course ain?t no parties outside downtown Hamilton, but accommodation would be easy.  Not sure partying and accommodation in Hamilton is abundant.  Downtown? Hamilton seemed to be like Portage Ave, from Colony to the Jets arena in Winnipeg..

My group is also planning for Vancouver next year.

Its been 23 years since I lived in Toronto, and had to venture into Hamilton on occasion (the Burlington Bay Skyway Bridge is SCARY in the wind https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVyPyIrrIH8 ) and I must admit, it was not pleasant most of the times I had to go there.  Not sure if the industry has changed, or if Stelco has cleaned up the coke plant, but I can only assume some improvement has been made...

But I bet its going to be a party...
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

Have done 20 of the last 30 grey cups and we have never pre bought our game tickets.
I have never seen so many tickets available on resale as well as regulars still available.
Flight prices are high but hoping lots of bomber fans make it out.

Ticket prices for the game will absolutely fall later on in the week as the sellers start to unload for what they can get.
Found a nice place to stay on cozycozy.com.  Hotel prices for anything near or in downtown are way out of line.

Bought my Grey Cup ticket in June.  Booked my flight in Sept.  Booked my hotel in Niagara Falls in Oct. - Grey Cup deal.  Will be my 16th Grey Cup.  Planning on taking the train from Winnipeg to Vancouver in 2024.  ;D

Flights are looking very full and expensive.
Wondering if any airlines are going to add a flight or 2.
Starting to see a drop in some of the resale ticket prices on ticketmaster.
Now that its the 4th cup in a row for bomber fans, suspecting a smaller bomber fan crowd in Hamilton.

Thanks for all your info and hype on the thread Bluehawk!

I'm trying to find a way for my son & I to go.  Flights into HAM are not feasible at $2k/ticket prices.  There may be some reasonable TOR flights if I don't mind wasting a whole day in airports and planes.  But then would have to keep an eye on forecasts to make sure there's no freezing rain storm on the 403 when I'm on it.

I'm totally ok with staying farther away from downtown if it saves a few hundred a night.  But then will have to look into park & ride or parking options for the actual GC.

I've never been to The Hammer, and stench or not, it'll be fun to cross it off my bucket list.

GC tickets look like the least of the concerns.  TM shows it mostly sold out now, with a few unsold pairs available within the 20's.  Tons of resale on TM though, and Stubhub is stocked too.  But the forecast is pretty good so far, so it's tough to tell what the final situation will be come the weekend.  My guess is a ton of TOR people bought tix and will be unloading.  HAM people will still go.  And a few MTL fans will snap some up -- they have the benefit of being able to wait until the last second to decide based on price.

At this point I'd say 50/50 chance I'll be there.  This will be the year I try to do the whole festival instead of just the game.  However, I guess with my (young) son in tow there will be limits on what I can participate in.

Hamilton is a working man?s town around the harbour and industrial areas but very nice up top on the escarpment portion. My cousins have lived their for 60+ years and love it. I think it?s a neat place, the 401 and crazy traffic and all

I'm going to the cup, Bluehawk!  Maybe I'll see ya there.  Found some very affordable travel options and got the all-important Wife Approval.  It'll be me and the kid once again, our 3rd GC together.

For those who want to go, there are cheaper-ish flight options and hotel options if you're willing to drive a tiny little bit into HAM.  I had enough airmiles once again to make it mostly "free".  Seems the only time I use these things is for CFL trips nowadays  :D

We need WPG to represent as I get the feeling there won't be a whole heck of a lot of us.  So we'll be there in blue making a lot of noise, even if we're the only ones in our section.

Now... to time the game tix purchase for optimal value... prices are still falling...
