I guess so... Zach threw 2 more picks but 10 more TD's.  They were 1-2 in efficiency Zach 112.8, Kelly 109.6.  Zach was .5% better completions, and 140 more yards.  Zach had 22 more completions.  Zach had 14.6 yds average per catch, Kelly 15.3.

Those are pretty similar stats, sure, Zach led in most, but it wasn't like the way BO20 led the next guy,

So, does the "win" stat count more than any other stat?  I'm guessing that's what the voters are saying.

BTW, in putting up almost 1000 yards passing on 89 attempts, with 9 TD's and no picks,  Dru Brown  led the league in efficiency rating for a QB at 139.9%.  No other "backup" broke 100.  Yeah, he's going to get an offer or two as a starter...

Just wondering if there are any stats. on QB fumbles, as Zach had quite a few of those this season.

Demario Houston had no business being on the team.  It just goes to show people voting for this just look at the stats and don't watch the games.  Houston was burned for several big plays this season.  There were more deserving Bomber defensive backs that were not considered because they didn't put up high INT totals.

DBs get burned.

Winnipeg is the leader in virtually every defensive stat. We were clearly not burned THAT much. I think some people are really overplaying that.

Houston is a fine all-star pick for me.  Maybe Nichols is more deserving, and MOS probably thinks so (he called him the best).  But Houston's INTs changed games, and he had no more busts than Rose or Holm.

Nichols locks it down and doesn't get challenged too much.  Clearly the "wow" factor means more for these picks.  Houston had the wow.

Stats Junkie

I like to look at drive based numbers for QBs - How productive was the QB?

Top points per drive numbers since 2004 (minimum 100 drives led)
2.58 Nathan Rourke (2022)
2.44 Anthony Calvillo (2008)
2.36 Zach Collaros (2023)
2.352 Chad Kelly (2023)

2.349 Zach Collaros (2022)
2.27 Bo Levi Mitchell (2016)

% of drives that ended in a TD - since 2004
31.1 Nathan Rourke (2022)
27.0 Zach Collaros (2022)
26.4 Zach Collaros (2023)
26.3 Anthony Calvillo (2008)
26.0 Chad Kelly (2023)
24.3 Ricky Ray (2013)

The most notable difference between Collaros & Kelly in 2023 was % of drives that ended in a turnover
Chad Kelly 8.7%
Zach Collaros 15.0%

Houston was amongst the best DBs this season. I have no idea how that's up for debate.

I'm a huge fan of Zach since we signed him and his winning record with the Bombers is simply outstanding.    That being said, Chad Kelly also had an equally outstanding season despite all the doubters that he could lead the team after his GC heroics last season.    He is also surrounded by a great team which is evident with 8 CFL all-star selections to the Bombers 6.
We still have work to do as do the Argos and if both are successful tomorrow we will finally see the rematch that was predicted earlier in the season.

Chad Kelly's game on Sunday was as he put it, "a nightmare" and Montreal turned Kelly's and the Argo season on its ear with that first pick six in the red zone.   That really rattled him and he threw 3 more picks including another pick six.   His poor performance will certainly tarnish his MOP award which he will most likely receive and will have a negative impact on season ticket sales.   TO fans are fickle that way.

Though I defended Kelly and his obviously outstanding season, I'm actually not a fan of his.   There's something about his overall demeanour that I just don't like and I for one felt no sympathy for him or the Argos for that matter, as they fell flat on their faces against the underrated Als.

We won't get to see the rematch of last years GC which many predicted, including myself, however we made it for the 4th consecutive time and that's all that matters.   TBH, I like our chances of reclaiming the Coupe de Grey playing the Als, albeit I will not take them lightly as they have a seriously great Defence as do we.

What I found surprising was that we have never faced the Als in a Grey Cup match over the entire span of CFL history!   That in itself will make this a very interesting matchup.   May the best team win on Sunday.

AS for the MOP player award, I'm with DrPhil on Youtube who simply said " give it to Brady, he deserves it"!   I totally agree and had Chad Kelly rallied his team when it REALLY mattered and won that final....I might be more inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt.    However, he didn't and then he totally lacked sportsmanship and stomped off the field without shaking hands.....both unfortunate and unforgivable!   Brady embodies the talent, leadership, and sportsmanship both on and off the field, (as did Zach) required for an MOP nominee.

Kelly failed to deliver for his Toronto  teammates, his coaches, his Toronto sports fans and Pinball Clemons!
Justice would be well served if Brady were to wins it....however, I believe the Chad Kelly hype machine has already made his selection a fait accompli.

End of rant.....well unless Brady is selected....lol!!

MOP doesn't take into account playoff games. It's purely a regular season award.
