Watched it was the most half hearted attempt at a tackle as you will see.
It sure was! I think I'll refer to half hearted tackles as "Marshalls" from now on. LOL!
Go Bombers!

Announcers actually commented on the play...
"A couple of interesting efforts on the tackle attempts ..." from Suitor of all people.

That?s the thing with blow outs, you break the oppositions will and they quit. I always though Marshall was a fierce competitor but we broke his will to compete and that?s saying something

kronic

After the fourth TD, Shivers had the entire D around and clear as day said, ?They?re kicking your *** out there.? Then they went and surrendered two more TD?s.

Micah looked pissed, but Lanier seriously looked like he didn?t give a ****. And Forde was frustrated as hell.

On D the Riders secondary is over-rated, Teitz at WIL is a clear weak spot, and the DL was weakened by the suspension to Robertson for his dumb-dumb action.

On O the Riders have very good Canadian receivers but the Americans receivers are no better than league average. The OLine is best described as eractic, the RBs are average and the OC obviously does not trust their new 3rd string rifleman to throw nothing more than 5-10 yard out patterns.

On special teams they have an NFL quality Punter, a dangerous returner, good coverage teams, and a good veteran kicker. STs is what won them the LDC.

On one Olivera run he didnt even attempt a tackle, rather just tried to back up against the runner.Team is never gonna improve with players like that.

It wasn't just Marshall, there were 2-3 other SSK players running into that mess who didn't want to tackle Brady.  They run by him on purpose or give him a weak bump, only the final tackler makes a real effort.  I think most of SSK was thinking early in the game "just don't get hurt".  Ya, that's giving up.

There was another big run play even later when the SSK D is again giving up, DBs barely trying, players falling and just laying down for a nap, and it takes big-man Dabire plodding all the way down the field to finally make the tackle.  At least one player still had heart.  He could have sat back and stayed held at the LoS, but he shed his block and put on his best jets to save the TD.

We should keep Dabire on our list of acquire-if-he-gets-cut-and-is-cheap.  You know MOS/KW love that list...

To be fair to Dolegala, that's really all our D was giving up.  It's the Hall M.O. to give up those short outs, especially when we're in favorable field position.

Dolegala did have 2 great mid pass attempts into the zone hole that would have been TDs or big gains.  He overthrew one and threw-behind on the other.  The 1st one really cost them and allowed the game to get out of control.  He puts waaay too much heat on those and makes them uncatchable.  He needs to understand the capabilities of his WRs.

Take what they give you and Hall gives very little

Why does the title of this thread say "again"? Since when has Saskatchewan not sucked?

This.

I've watched the highlights of this beatdown at least once a day since it happened. ;D

It doesn't hurt when your offence scores every time they have the ball. 6 TD's and 3 FG's.  The defence got the Riders off the field quickly ( 9 punts and 2 turnovers ). The offence ran with the ball literally.

We didn't. We punted with 40 seconds to go... so technically...

Funny, when the commentators were discussing player of the game honours, the jokingly mentioned Sheahan...
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

Football is a chicken or egg question. If an offence takes control and wins TOP and field position it makes life easier for the defence. If a defence prevents the opponent from winning TOP then it's a big advantage for our offence.

In this game we did both. The Riders were not able to sustain anything the entire game. IIRC they only had 9 1st downs in the 1st half while we had about 20?

Credit goes to the both the offence and defence for remarkable performances.

When the offence gets of to a quick start like that though it changes the game plan for the opposition. If the D makes 3 quick stops it doesn't have the same immediate in game impact.
