Seeing on Twitter in multiple places that long time CFL coach Rich Stubler has passed away.

He accomplished a lot in the CFL.  RIP Coach!

Wow, just talking about him last night because he always used to wear the vest, same as Benevides did.

RIP. A CFL legend.

RIP. He was a great one and was involved in the CFL for many years.

That guy seemed to be a great coach. I liked his philosophy.  His motto could have been, ? if you don?t stand for something, you?ll fall for anything.?
Anyone have his record, specifically how many championship coaching staffs was he part of.

Always sad when a "constant" in my CFL fandom days goes. RIP.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember back in the off-season going into 2014, there was a rumour that Stubler was in the running to be our next HC (before we ultimately went with O'Shea). Could have been very different.

I think he was a candidate, and that after MOS was hired, he wanted Stubs as his DC. But he ultimately went to the Stamps that year.

I'll miss watching him doing that bend-over-hands-on-knees stance he always did pre-snap (often chewing on something).  I don't think any coach ever bent over so low  :D  but it worked for him.

Sad day for the CFL.  Nice to see the little tribute/clips in the game this past week.  Unlike some coaches, I don't recall hearing anyone say anything bad about the guy all these years, and that's saying something when you include the rough and tumble fan forums.  Seemed universally respected, and very very good at his job.

RIP, and condolences to his family.
Never go full Rider!
