The Good

We eaked out a win.
Demerio Houston's key interception.
Brady Oliviera's first half performance.
Dru Brown - steady.  He's a back up but a good one.
Willie Jefferson. Brought pressure all night.

The Bad

ST's on kick returns.  Needs to be addressed.
Blocked kick.  Some one missed an assignment.
We should have challenged the Holms' UR call.

The Ugly

One more time - ST's on kick returns.
"You can't let praise or criticism get to you. It's a weakness to get caught up in either one." - John Wooden

The Zipp

The call was unnecessary roughness not PI..can that be challenged?  I agree that if it can challenged it should have.

From John Hodge 3Downation re call on Holm:
"O?Shea told 680 CJOB postgame that he didn?t understand the call, though he was unable to challenge it."

Good
Brady
OL on run
Run by committee
Int
Bad
Red zone on O
Ugly
Kick coverage
Punt blocking at LOS

Agree with Modadmin and PJ. Will add under ugly:
These horrible in game interviews that go on forever, are of interest to know one, and detract from the game. I use the mute button, and often forget to turn the sound back on at all. Why in the world does TSN intentionally spoil their broadcast. It's like they're admitting the game is too boring to stand on its own.

The Good

Willie Jefferson. Brought pressure all night.

Uh, were we watching the same game?  Besides the hang-back bat-down I saw Willie mostly sleeping.  Either that or that CGY OL was comprised of 5 all-stars.  But even then, I expect some real pressure and a measly sack!  If you think Willie caused big pressure, name some plays and I'll be happy to go back and check and revise my conclusion.

Willie has been known to take games off, especially when he thinks the opponent is weak and we don't need his services.  He's done this with us for years, and other team fans who had Willie (SSK, etc) have made the same comments.

During every playoff run with Willie I've mentioned this and said it's totally fine because when it's the Big Game(tm) Willie wakes up and goes berzerker mode for us.  I'll take a few sleepy games in trade for the lights-out playoffs.  It's just who he is.  May be part of his secret sauce for never being injured.

GOOD

Kyrie Wilson is beast, absolutely insane, single-handedly 1-upping our run D 9 levels of goodness.  Literally unreal.  (e.g. 3Q4:58)

Tackle leader on the night?  Having Wilson back is like when we used to get Stove back from injury and suddenly no one can run against us.

UGLY

MOS not calling timeout 4Q3:09, before the timecount on Dru on critical 3rd&1.  Refs blew it in super fast.  They show Dru 3:02/13s still getting the call holding his ears.  12s he's looking at his wrist.  MOS clearly notices the problem 3:01/12s.  This play isn't getting off.  I bet coaches time these things in film study and know at whatever playclock time (say 15s) the QB must be already telling the O the play.

Even though the clock was just going under 3:00, he doesn't lose the TO until the 3 min warning.  He had a free TO he was 100% going to lose before the next play, and he 100% knew they were late with the play call and huddle, and he 100% knew we weren't getting it off because we snapped it about 3s late, not any sort of right-at-the-0s close one.

The play was 100% a from the gun run play to Brady with Jackson opening the right side.  An insane, non-Bomber call on its own.  High risk.  There was no fake out for offside: no one waggled.  There was no pass play intended: no receiver moved or looked interested.  The OL and Jackson played it hard until they heard the whistle.

Should have called TO and thought it through and put Prukop back in to sneak.  Brown is a weak sneaker and we can't afford a BLM injury on him.  Can't say we lost all Prukop faith because a few mins later we put the whole game on a Prukop sneak.

I wonder if MOS will come clean about that foobar play on coaches show?

BEAUTIFUL

The final run play by Brady where we turn a 0 yard run-blitzed gain into 5 yards to afford us the next sneak to win.  Everyone needs to watch the replay of that play, the one where you can actually see Brady from behind.  This is sheer will-to-win by Brady, Gray and Yoshi, with Ko-man bulldozing the way with Brady on his butt.

The hoggies avoid the infamous and rarely called (yet very real) tandem block by Gray/Yoshi each having a CGY guy between them and their pushing of Brady.  The CGY guys are against Brady, the hoggies are pushing them.  My favorite play of the game, and one of my favorites of the season.  We expect this of Yosh, but to see this from Gray and Ko-man really opened my eyes.  Wunderbar.

GOLDMEMBER

Good
Brady being the pusher
Willie wakes up in the second half
Jeffcoat had at least 2 massive tackles
Castillo is Golden
Buck play calling in he first half
Dicky boy crying incessantly
MOS gamble to go for it 3 and 1.5 and win the game right there
Houston pick 6 won the game

Bad
Kick coverage is the worst part of this team
Holm with a weaker game
Interior OL got man handled a few times
Buck play calling in the second half
Sheehan punting was average at best. What happens when it is -15 outside?
MOS not using TOS when the situation calls for

Ugly
Spare crowd
Barker is super annoying on the panel, he needs to go sit in no where land with Climie and Rod Black
TSN production with strange clock ticker action late
I LOSHT MY MEMBER IN AN UNFORTUNATE SHMELTING ACCSHIDENT!

Good:
Getting a win
Brady's Bully runs  ;D
The Oline's last push
Brown getting some important experience

Bad:
Slow sometimes ugly game
The fact that Brady had like 70 tards in the 1st half, but finished with 80

Ugly:
The drive where Prukop bobbles the RPO with McCrae and then they take a penalty on 2nd down
The timecount violation towards the end
The stripes on the Stamps jerseys

It was a thing of beauty- might have won the game for us...no confidence in our punt coverage at that point in the game, they probably are within FG range instantly if we punt.

3rdand1.5

Good
Certain points of the o-line-especially the late push with Brady
Brady, the was the first, the second and the third star all on his own yesterday
Castillo 4/4...... Leggs 1/4 this weeks stats say everything we need to know

Bad
The UR call
Our passing game

Ugly
Special teams...all of it...except Castillo...dropped ball on return, poor return yards....giving up a  blocked punt....giving up multiple game changing returns.....all and all a very very ugly special teams performance...why do we roster 99 LB's if not for not for special teams advantage??? If we suck this bad with coverage let's at least get a DL on the roster to help our rotation....

The Zipp

Dru Broen was not great - and that was expected by anyone who watches CFL football, being in relief is very different than starting.  Exactly why in GDT from last week I used the term "slow the roll" on hyping this guy up too much.  He is going to look like he did last night more often than against Edmonton.  It just takes time and experience...if Zach goes down for an extended time we will be in trouble just like the riders, Hamilton, BC (with Dane), Edmonton, Ottawa.

Pro level QB is hard to play - Under 50 men in North America are really good at it.

MOS was asked after the game why he didn't challenge it and his replay was he can't challenge the call...,then he said "now you've got me thinking" followed up with you can't challenge that call....is that correct?   Likely MOS is correct and we're not....

The Good
Houston?s pick 6-without that we don?t win
Castillo-thank god we have him or there?s a game we don?t win
Winning an ugly hard fought game
Brady?s running

The Bad
The blocked punt/whiffed block by kramdi-this is becoming the norm with our punt team, it?s concerning
Our punting- we don?t get enough hang time on our punts hence our cover team isn?t within 10 yds of the ball when it is caught

The ugly
Taking a time count late in the game?where are the coaches to intervene-this could have been the game
The officiating is totally inconsistent -Collaros gets smoked, no call last week, this week holm gets called on a brush/glancing hit-get it together and call it one way the entire season

Tough getting hang time when the wind is howling.....but otherwise yeah, Sheean is more of a "special effects" kicker.
