You could see Khari REALLY wanting to go on 3rd and goal. Twice it showed him excitedly making his case to Dyce who didn't seem to respond.  If they had gotten that they likely win. I can see both sides of it though. They had been stopped once just prior, although that was more than a yard and it only came up 5 inches short. That sneak did get more than a yard. Generally you play more conservative as the visitor but also when you have momentum you want to ride it and go all out. Worst case, let's say Regina gets the stop. They don't go 109 yards and probably get no score of any kind. You get the ball back, workable field position and a chance. Hindsight.

Glad I'm not Dyce today. That one must have hurt.

They have lost two successive games they coulda, shoulda won....that stings.   Next up is TO and if Kelly is playing, I don't think it's close....OTH if it's their back up the RBs have a shot.

The law of averages played out. The RB have won 2 games they had no right in winning, and they blew one here they coulda, shoulda have won. C est la vie

2nd & 2... No reason to go for the Bomb, just run the ball and run it again if you need to. That's where Ottawa lost the game.

So, Pigrome misses the bomb, and can't convert a short yardage.  Donaegala was worse, but that's not saying much...

Agree 100% - you have two yards and two trys - defence is 1 yrd off the ball. Just run the ball twice!

That's true but it did seem like a pass that should have been caught. Not the easiest to do but that's what good receivers are supposed to do.

Real hard to dispute that bone headed dual call by Jones and Dyce. Beyond idiotic really. And to have Piggy try was even worse.
Reminiscent of Prukop trying the same thing during last years GC game.
I thought to myself wow you might of just blown the game there Dyce.

Bringing a backup off the bench old and asking him to make a touch throw into coverage is questionable.  When that backup is a raw rookie with 3 games in your system, even more so.  As soon as he saw Clark had not bitten on the fake, the ball should not have been thrown, he should have tried to run around the end...

Right on. I thought someone came open behind everybody in the middle of the field too but Piggy was locked in.

This is BANG ON! Ott should have went for it. If they didn't make it, 1st down for Riders on the 1, enough time on the clock to either get a 2 and out and then score a field goal on the last play to win. Sask would not have been passing the ball in that situation as a sack is a safety in the end zone and a tie game plus they would have to kick off to Ott. So Ott just had to stop the run there to get the ball back. Ott could have sent a run blitz on both downs ensuring a stop on the run or hold Sask to a short pass and then force them to kick. Dyce really missed the right call, you came there to win, just do it Baby!

Ottawa has done well just to compete in games post masoli injury, but they ll battle Hamilton for the cellar spot in the weak east division

Agree, I thought it was a strange call. Second and 1, I can see it, but even then, teams are sometimes having a tough time getting a yard on 3rd and short.

I've never seen a season with as many botched 3rd & 1's as this season.  I feel like it used to be automatic for most teams 90%+ of the time.

I think DLs are getting stronger and OLs getting weaker.  And there's very few guys who relish in the SY QB role, like Marve, Feve, Prukop and even Dom Davis did/do.

No one made a thread for the MTL@HAM game... so I'll post this here.  Anyone catch Leggs' botched kick with 0s before halftime?  Leggs was looking great (better than Castillo) for the first few games, but I think this is his second missed FG in "crunch time" where there's lots of pressure.  So maybe that was the biggest reason WFC released him after all.  Castillo has missed about the same number of FG/PAT as Leggs, but instead of botching the big kicks, he seems to randomly miss.  That might be "better" from a playoff standpoint.

Though I will never forget being in SSK watching Leggs put that 50 yarder through to effectively win us the LDC... We'll see if Leggs can overcome his problems throughout the rest of the season.  And hopefully Castillo proves that he's money in crunch time.

Both kickers have missed one FG according to Stats Crew.  Leggs from 50+, Castillo from 40+. Both kickers have been very good.

Pretty sure Leggs missed another FG before this one(?).  And I think both Leggs and Castillo have missed 2 PATs since their team-changes (maybe one of them missed 3?).  Sure wish CFL stats were working...

My point is, on paper they look even and thus we look stupid, but once you factor in the "criticalness of the kick at that moment" so far Castillo looks better, and I think that was the thinking behind the switch.
