While there is no argument from me that we are sitting at #3 after week 6 Power Rankings, this should be added motivation for the Bombers to lay some leather on Ottawa and Edmonton in the next two games before their bye.

Sir Blue and Gold

It's actually good to fly slightly under the radar if that's even possible for the Bombers at the moment. We get everyone's best game week in and week out. We're mostly up to the task but it would be nice to get the odd B effort every once and awhile. Hasn't happened in a long time.

We're playing Ottawa and Edmonton over the next couple of weeks, so I don't think we have the opportunity to move up in the rankings until we face BC on Aug. 3

Thats what I'm thinking.....i'm hoping by then that Lawler is back because BC has all their starting receiver back.   We can certainly use him as other receivers on our squad have been getting nicked here and there.....Schoen has taken some hellacious hits and despite his toughness it's starts to take a toll on his body.

Right now number 3 is a fair assessment until we go and hammer the Lions and Argos and retake our rightful place.
Some people take this forum way too seriously.

Second in the division matters more than power rankings. ;D

Power rankings don't matter at all. What matters is the win/loss record.

Ditto... I'm 100% sure the Grey Cup does not go to the team listed in the #1 power ranking spot.

they\ve released the week 5 pff rankings and Jeffcoat was the top dl .  I don\t know how good these rankings are..How can Harris be the top ranked qb for the week when they only scored 12 'points and win by a bonehead mixup on a st,?.  If you asked Harris about his game I bet the first thing he'd say is we didn't put the ball in the endzone enough

I stopped following those rankings after they listed Fajardo as the most efficient QB, the same week Zach threw for 4 TD's in one game. I don't know how they come up with them and frankly I don't care, Charlotte.

Yep. Power ranking is just for a drama.

WPG is #1.  Here's why:

1. BC has VAJ, and he's a hot/cold head-case QB.  He looked like Rourke early in the season, but I will bet money it's not sustainable.  I've never been sold on him, and there's no new fairy dust this year that suddenly made him the league MVP.  He's still VAJ.  He's tiny, not the smartest, and is a headcase.  TOR has shown the way to beating him, assuming he hasn't already beaten himself.  Plus, he takes off too much and thus may get injured.

2. TOR has Kelly.  He's basically a rookie.  He's still being figured out by DC's.  He's going to fall into the same traps all rookie QBs do.  He's going to get picked on and most likely be an INT machine when he faces good teams.  They hid that well by going run-heavy with their two monster RBs.  Look at their red-zone plan 9 of 10 times: Oulette.  Whip the omellette and Kelly will revert to expected form.  Finally, he too is a running QB and thus may get injured.

Ya, both their teams are very good, but so is WPG.  Thus the choice in power ranking will come down to QB.  Zach is the best.  Not perfect, but better because a) not a rookie, b) not a headcase, c) shakes off mistakes.

If you want to regurgitate the current standings, ya this power rankings has it correct.  If you want to be predictive of the next few weeks, go with what I just wrote.

We are #3, until we beat either of those teams.  It's plain and simple.

Agree with most.  Hard to say how Kelly will play the rest of the year but I do like what I see.  I also agree we are #1.  That said these three teams are pretty close.  VA is the wild card.  Hot and cold.

All you're doing is assuming past trends hold true.

We've had one opportunity against BC/TO and we fell flat on our faces. And our O hasn't recovered since that game.

BC beat us but got smoked by TO.

The standings are totally fair based on what we've seen. And thanks to the worst schedule I've ever seen, we don't get the opportunity to prove otherwise for quite some time.
