Let's discuss streaming options.  Also can PM me to share sites.

Just pay for TSN, man.

This is the league's bankroll.

Ya, I spring for TSN, but I'm also a fan of F1, so it amortizes over the year.  That's the best way to go.  However, even if I didn't have TSN, I'd still have cable.

PJ might be wondering what one can do if they are a total cord-cutter.  Does TSN offer an in-Canada for-pay streaming service?  What's the $/month?  I would imagine they have affordable options for cord-cutting Canadians?  If it's $15/mo or whatever you can just buy it for the CFL months.  That's like $75/year if my guess is right.  That's one night at IGF for 1 person.  Worth it.

Like Jesse said, it's like half the $$ that keeps the CFL running.  We can't just pirate the league we love and support.
Never go full Rider!

I don't have TV service where I live.  I would be happy to pay for TSN stream, not sure if you can.  You can stream CFL in the states.

I would appreciate it we could focus on streaming here so that folks that don't have TV can find ways to both watch and support the league.

I will see what TSN offers for streaming and report back.  I googled steaming CFL and the American options came up.

The future is cord cutting and streaming.  Traditional TV packages are expensive and provide mostly things you don't need imo.

Update looks like it's $19.99 per month to stream TSN or $199 per year.  Anyone have that? What's the quality and reliability like?

I cut the cord completely and pay for TSN streaming. It's $20/month or $200/year.

I usually watch with an app on my Android TV. However, the app is relatively new, before it was available I used the chromecast function in the TSN phone app to cast to my TV. My newer TV has a built-in Chromecast, but I was able to use a Chromecast HDMI device on my old non-smart TV in the same way.

For a while, I was having issues with the stream on the TV and the phone app, but the TV app seems to have fixed itself and I haven't gone back to the phone app. I will occasionally also watch the game on my laptop with the browser view.

Thanks man!!!!! Quality? How many users at once? One household or can share?

No reason to get cross man, looking for help here and others are being kind enough to give it.

Quality is currently really good on my 55 inch LED TV. No 4K stream though.

The TV app was working perfect until earlier this year when the stream quality would go up and down. Last time I checked (couple weeks ago), it was back working fine. Casting from my phone also worked perfect until around the same time, then it had buffering issues which I was able to fix through a workaround (long story, but simple fix). All my other casting apps worked perfect (e.g. DAZN, Netflix, SportsNet, etc.), even in 4K, so it the issue was definitely at the TSN end of things. I went back and forth with their support people over a few weeks and it magically started working. I assume they tweaked something at their end.

You can also replay games, watch docs, etc. So I have no problem paying the $200/year because I also watch the Jets during the winter.

Thanks again man.  I am an Oilers fan and their games are on Sportsnet but this would be good for CFL for me.

I would use the replay.

Can you use it in the USA?  I go to Maui ever November for 3 to 4 weeks.

No, I don't think you can use it in the USA. You could try to use a VPN, but I couldn't get it to work outside of Canada with a my Norton VPN.

I'm haven't been watching any sports right now until CFL starts, so I just retested the TV and phone apps.
- Android Phone App: I have the same issue with freezing when I try to cast to my TV, but my 30 second fix (uninstalling the Built-In Chromecast updates) fixes the problem and the video works great
- Android TV App: Four of the channels I tried worked great. UFC Countdown on TSN 2 was freezing for some reason on the TV app.

I'm going to call TSN again, because the TV app is buggy. But I can get what I need when I cast to the TV from my phone (with the 30 second fix).

Bottom Line: It works, but both the phone app and TV app are buggier than anything I've ever used to stream. But it works. Watching on your computer or your phone work fine.

I would just watch on the lappy with HDMI to the TV.  Sometimes phone.  I love to stream on the boat when fishing.

I had both the TSN and SN app during the Jets season.
SN feed was always crystal clear, the TSN feed would occasionally go blurry several times a period.

I had the opposite experience. TSN has always worked for me, but SN can go blurry or just refuse to work at times.

My parents still like having cable for all the other channels, so they have Shaw.
I can use their Shaw log-in information to sign in to TSN. They obviously know about it and are fine with it, but it gets me into Sportsnet and TSN which I use all the time for Raptors, Jets, Blue Jays, Bombers and NFL games.

They also have NFL Redzone, and sometimes during fantasy football season I'll just keep that on in the background for updates.

Quality is 95% of what you get on cable. They've cleaned up on the buffering quite a bit.
I've gone other streaming routes but quality-wise this is the best way to go.

Yeah SN is not as refined for me as TSN. I like the phone and Xbox app much better from TSN.

Lincoln Locomotive

I always stream live on CJOB.....still miss Bob Irving but Derek Taylor really gets excited when the Bombers make a big play and Doug Brown provides his insightful and mostly nonpartisan opinions.....the only game I will "watch" are if the Bombers are in the playoffs or the GC....haven't had TV for 14 years and I don't miss it....not even a little...bit of a Luddite I suppose....LOL
Bomber fan for life
