We were soundly beaten in the trenches and it's highly unlikely Lawler would not have prevented the 7 sacks or challenged the outcome of that game.    We need to move on and get him back before the season slips away on him.....I'm more concerned with his game shape and getting injured by not being 100% ready to play both physically and mentally

With no ability to work, he's got nothing better to do than stay in the best shape of his life.

I think the reason we saw McCrae inserted into the line-up the very next game is because we didn't have a player that gave us the quick outlet to defend teams coming at us the way BC did. You get off a quick pass to Lawler that goes long because all the defenders are blitzing, watch how fast they stop blitzing.

Agreed. That and McRae is just way more of a matchup challenge than Agudosi has proven to be. He can line up as a running back, slot back and has the threat of speed. He can line up as the slot but then become the running back pre snap which can give the defense fits depending what they're in on that particular play. In contrast, Agudosi mostly just brings height but hasn't been particularly dominate in 1 on 1s.

I don't think that it really had anything to do with Agudosi, and more to do with Demski being out. BOOL had to come in and he, like Agudosi, is a traditional type receiver and we needed to have a swiss army knife like Demski because the playbook has no many plays designed to make defences have to account for his versatility. When we lose Demski's abilities we lose a big part of our play book, unless McCrae can fill a similar type role. Unfortunately that leaves Agudosi as the odd man out.

Demski is back today and it's mccrae not Agudosi playing...if we could get both rostered and rotate that would be interesting but I think the addition of Greg's speed and versatility is too inviting.

I think Augustine could do the same thing as McCrae if given the chance.

I think McCrae is a lot faster and has quicker moves than Augustine. He's shown some decent ability to be both a receiver and a RB. OTOH, I would like to see Augustine also used in a few players tonight. Mix it up on the game plan.

Correct. McRae just the better option over the two for reasons mentioned. You have Demski, McRae and Oliveria out there. A lot of defenses need to identify the running back. That's usually easy but actually quite hard to do with the three of them motioning everywhere. You also have a great backup RB dressed when McRae is out there which counts for something too. I think he's a tremendous fit for our offense and if we can keep him on the roster he could have a breakout year. Maybe not in total yards and TDs but certainly in the value the Bombers place on him. Very few guys can do what he can. You have returners that can be receivers. You have running backs who are good out of the backfield. But vary rarely do you have a guy that can be really effective as a receiver and running back.

He's been in the line-up for awhile now. Coaches haven't trusted him to do it yet.

I think McCrae brings more versatility to the equation than Augustine does.

He brings more of everything if we're being honest.

I'd say if we had a scale of powerback to scatback, it would be Brady and McCraeCrae at each end and Johnny somewhere in the middle.

If we can use those three back there plus Demski and Bailey's speed occasionally, what a mix that is.

Brady is just such a bruiser it really helps to have a guy like McCrae working in for some reps. Especially with the ability to use him at WR/SB.

so my question is....when Lawler returns who will the Bombers bench?    It's a problem albeit a good one....

Easy.  Agudosi/McCrae are just place-holding Lawler's spot.  No question whatsoever.

I suppose you could look at Bailey's spot, but I highly doubt it.
