Easy.  Agudosi/McCrae are just place-holding Lawler's spot.  No question whatsoever.

I suppose you could look at Bailey's spot, but I highly doubt it.

Maybe on a rotational basis but even that seems unlikely.

Bailey is a blocking machine and does everything proficiently in his role.

Agreed no way Bailey come out. It would be the McRae/Agudosi spot.

That will be a tough call, tough to take McRae out after the game he had last night, and if grant is hurt, I think McRae stays in as our kick returner  anyways. The guys lethal out there

I think his performance earns him a spot as a DI when Lawler joins the team. He adds a dynamic we haven't had. OTOH, I don't want to lose Cole as a DI either so it will be a tough choice.

McCrae might need to be placed on 1 game IR to avoid losing him.

Fortunately/unfortunately there will also be injuries that will impact the week to week roster...Greg needs a spot.

Of course. I was just suggesting that we won't want to return him to the PR in future. He's been with the team and we'll want to protect him. If that means a need to put him on the 1 game IR, we should be ok with that. He'll still be on an ELC.

Not a chance is he going to PR..

Sir Blue and Gold

McRae will be in the lineup one way or another the rest of the year. We might not win yesterday without him.

For now, it's super easy. He goes in and replaces Janarion Grant for as long as he's out. Later on something will have to give but it won't be a healthy McRae.

Not necessarily once Lawler gets added to AR. We don't know if Grant will miss the next game or longer but that would be a short term change. As I suggested, we don't want to lose Cole as a DI either. He's been very good on ST's and we've lost Gauthier for a considerable length of time.

The other DI is Haba and we don't want to take him off either. He's improving each game.

McRea in for Grant is a natural....McRea can be slotted in as kick returner /receiver as was the case with Grant.....Don't know how we're going to juggle things Haba or Cole.....we don't want to shelve either....Tough choices but good ones to have....The wheels of justice turn ever so slowly...maybe quite a wait yet on Kenny

We might be due to get a few players back from 6 game IR in the next couple of weeks. That will be another juggling process. Just as an example when Wilson returns and is ready to " start " that pushes Clements towards the DI role. That pushes Cole further down the depth chart and wouldn't be room for all of them.

Of course on any given play ( Gauthier ) gets nicked late in the game and ends up on 6 game IR. He's a Canadian but every game someone gets nicked so depth at each position is great.

There aren't any players on our roster I don't want on the team. However, roster size, ratio and SMS are all part of the decision process.

As several posters have mentioned we want McCrae to be retained on the AR. Where / how is the best option across the roster?

That may seem like the natural option and possibly the one they will use, but I don't think he'd last long as a returner, he doesn't have Grant's build or strength and with his running style he's liable to get killed.  That would leave them down two "spark" players sitting on the IR, same reason to say no to Demski.   Maybe use Johnny Augustine in that role temporarily, he has the build to absorb the punishment and he's not getting any reps. on O anyway.

Really disagree with Buck's decision to use Grant as a receiver, returner is a fulltime job and something bad often happens when these speedy little guys try to contribute more to the offence.  It's certainly not the first time.

Ok, Kent Austin  :D :D :D

Maybe the problem wasn't Grant on O, maybe the problem was having him go up the gut.  Maybe we need to focus on Grant getting the ball in space.  Which means passing, not sweeping.  You want to use your returner a couple of times on O as it's a valuable spell, a tendency breaker for the D, and keeps the D on their toes.

My takes is that when Lawler slots in, if Grant is OK, McCrae will be back to PR.  Think about it, he's had 2 great games in 2-3 years.  He was pretty ineffective at run plays (which is supposed to be his bread & butter).  He's a depth guy, at least for now.  I'm pretty sure he'd be safe on the PR too.

I think if you get McRae the ball more often, he will continue to make plays like he?s been doing. Unlike him as our DI for sure if lawler comes back, until then, we aren?t missing a beat having him in our lineup. Can?t wait to see what he does next game!!
