Blue Bombers add two to roster - April 7, 2023

WINNIPEG, MB., April 7, 2023 - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the signing of two players - American receiver Gavin Garner and Canadian offensive lineman Tyler Grisolia.

Garner (6-5, 220; Northwestern Oklahoma State; born: August 20, 1997, in Newcastle, OK.) comes to the Blue Bombers after attending rookie mini camps with both the Philadelphia Eagles and New Orleans Saints last spring. He finished his five-year collegiate career with 149 receptions for 2,414 yards and 25 touchdowns in 40 games. His final season was his most productive, catching 58 passes for 1,099 yards and 12 touchdowns while being named a member of the Don Hansen NCAA Division II Honorable Mention All-American team.

Grisolia (6-3, 305; University of Toronto; Richmond Hill, ON) dressed for seven games for the University of Toronto Blues last year and most recently attended the Canadian Football League's invitational combine at the University of Waterloo.

hopefully Agudosi can overcome all the adversity he's faced injury wise because in the few chances he's had to actually play, he was lights out.....our receiving corp as it stands at this moment is frightening and adding another prospect to the ranks at 6'5 is exciting!

His last injury in 2022 was a bit of a freak ankle injury IIRC. He should be able to recover from that in full. Looking forward to seeing him compete in TC this season. However, barring injury he's not likely to make the AR at the beginning of the season. He has an advantage with being familiar with the playbook and teammates overall. Will he be willing to continue sitting on the PR?

He had an outstanding 1st game before being injured and could be productive if we can get him on the roster.

In theory he may have to beat out Bailey as a starter, pushing Bailey to a DI spot as a Nationalized American. While that is not probable it is possible and would create a strong rotation with the receivers on the game day roster.

Now can Agudosi win a starting role and will we choose to DI Bailey? IMO we need DI's more on the defensive side of the ball so I don't see that as the end result.

DI's: Always the unknown each TC with new faces fighting for spots.

At worst we have excellent starters and improving depth.

If Agudosi is placed on the PR, someone will pluck him off of it (I'm talking Chris Jones). If he still shows well in training camp, he will present a problem of where to keep him, maybe the he gets injured again just after training camp (wink).

Agudosi also does play special teams very well. He has some college highlights of him blocking punts. If we can use him on kickoffs, kick returns, punts, punt returns, FG's and FG blocks, he could be very useful as a DI.

You're right....I seem to recall watching his highlight reel and he made several good plays on special teams.....he's a gamer
