Canadian Football League releases 2023 CFL schedule

WINNIPEG, MB., December 13, 2022 - The Canadian Football League (CFL) today unveiled the 2023 schedule and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers open the regular season at home on Friday, June 9th against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The home opener is one of two Friday night home games throughout the summer.

After opening at home to Hamilton, the Bombers will then travel to Saskatchewan for their second game on the schedule before returning to face the BC Lions at IG Field June 22.

The home schedule includes three Friday night games on June 9th, July 7th (vs Calgary) and September 29th (vs Toronto). Four games will be played at IG Field on Thursday nights, and two will be held on Saturdays: The annual Banjo Bowl on September 9th and Saturday, October 21st versus Edmonton. The club will play seven of its nine regular season home games between the home opener and the Banjo Bowl.

The annual Labour Day Classic and Banjo Bowl will be played September 3rd in Regina and September 9th at IG Field.

"We know our fans really enjoy summer nights at IG Field, and we certainly have plenty of those coming up this summer," said President & CEO, Wade Miller. "The atmosphere at IG Field in 2022 was unmatched and we cannot wait to see all of our fans return to form come June."
